Quick Update

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all enjoying spring and that your Spring holiday (we celebrate Easter) was fabulous! Filled with family, fun and of course, food.

I wanted to share with you a few layouts I completed this last week.

This first one is based on a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches.  I am still trying to work my way though the older papers (never gonna happen, but I gotta try).  Last Christmas we spent a few days in Disneyland.  Waiting for the gate to open, I snapped these.  Love the new twine I got last week from The Twinery.  And I used up some super old Disney stickers.  So I guess I am slowly making a dent.  hee hee
Pink Paislee 365 and Bayberry patterned papers, alphabet, borderlines, Twine from The Twinery, Stickers EK Success
And this is my sweet niece, Lili.  For her birthday my grandmother (her great grandmother) bought her a tiny umbrella.  Needless to say, she loves it.  And living in San Francisco, I am sure she will find plenty of opportunities to use it.  This was supposed to be for the sketch challenge over on the Crate Paper blog.  But I forgot to send it.  Did I mention that life hasn't really slowed down much?  hee hee
Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe patterned papers, chipboard, buttons, ribbon.  American Crafts Thickers , Jenni Bowlin Tiny Letters, Martha Stewart punch, Judikins Diamond Glaze
And Finally, Ainsley...hanging out in the yard.  This one is based on a sketch I found at Creative Scrappers.  Didn't enter this either....just didn't happen.  lol  I loosely based the colors on a palette from Color Combos Galore.  I did manage to get this one loaded.  hee hee  Again, trying to use some older papers.
Pink Paislee Queen Bee patterned papers, Prima Flowers and Alpha, Amber Road butterfly.  Unknown lace.
Well, lots to do, even more blogs to post.  I have my Wednesday post at Your Memories Here (which still has an awesome sale on Glimmer Mists going on) and Thursday is reveal day at Sassy Lil' Sketches.

Until then....

Hugs.

They just keep on coming....

It seems that I am getting back into the swing of things and that means more projects to share with you!  Horray!!!!

Today I have two fun layouts.  The first is using the color palette from last weeks Color Combos Galore and a Sketchablitlies sketch.
Websters Pages Patterned Papers, Rose Ribbon, Prima Roses, Imaginisce acrylic snowflakes, Bazzil cardstock

I love these Webster's Pages papers.  The purple and teal are just so pretty together. This is my Mother-in-laws Christmas tree. So pretty, all done in red and white.

And another tree...This one ours in the family room (did I ever tell you we had 4 trees this year?).  The children decorate it using balls and ornaments they have made over the years.  I would have added ribbon, but they just weren't interested.  lol

Basic Grey patterned paper, Websters Pages lace, American Crafts trim (red) and Thickers, Imaginisce Snowflake, Distress Ink, Glimmer Mist

I used some older Basic Grey, Figgy Pudding, papers and a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.  I used a bit of Glimmer Mist and Distress Ink on the journaling strips to make them sparkle like the foil Thickers.  They look much more shiny in person.

Well, hope things are back to normal where you are.

Hugs.

It's Wednesday

And that means the week is half over!  Hooray!!!

Lots of fun planned this weekend.  We have already purchased our ticket to Harry Potter and have dinner reservations at a super fun fondue restaurant.  And, if I play my cards right, I may have time to scrap!
The weekend simply can't get here fast enough.

Well, while we wait what about a little sneak of something fabulous happening this Friday!
Devon, at Catch the Moments Kits was planning on having a Black Friday sale...but then thought, everyone has a Black Friday sale! So, she decided to have a Friday before Black Friday sale...Details tomorrow, but this Friday CTM kits will be having the BIGGEST sale ever!   How fun is that!

And finally, a project I completed for the Color Combos Galore weekly challenge.

Ainsley loves playing with Zinca.  We have tons of colors so you can really decorate for swim meets.  It stays on in the water, and being made of zinc oxide makes a great sunblock.  Far be it from me to keep the children from using sunblock.  lol

Well, gotta run.  Still have dishes to do from dinner.

Hugs.

Happy Wednesday

Just wanted to share a few projects I finished.  Lots going on here, but then...that is nothing new.

This is me, a few years ago, at DisneyLand, having lunch with...well, you can see with.  lol
Maya Road and Websters Pages trims, Pagemaps sketch.  Color Combos Galore Palette

This is Mackenzie, all dressed up for her Nutcracker performance.  The ballet provides the hat and jacket.  So cute.
Prima Marketing papers, flowers.  Pink Paislee alpha and frame

These are some of the lions at the San Diego Safari park.  We had a great time.  These lions were just cracking me up.  I guess they were waiting for someone to come back and get the jeep.  lol
Hambly Studios Stickers, Pagemaps Sketch.

I also have this mini up at Ideas for Scrapbookers today.

Well, off to drive.  Don't forget that tomorrow is release day at Sassy Lil' Sketches.

Hugs.

Happy 1/2 way till the Weekend!

If you are looking for the Ideas for Scrapbookers' blog hop, scroll down a bit.....And if you didn't know there was a blog hop going on, you should check it out.  Lots of the designers have prizes to be won!

I wanted to make a quick post today just to update you on a few more projects I have completed.

Phil was camping this last weekend with the scouts so I decided to spend Friday night cleaning my scrap room.  I came across these old photos from when Brighton was a Webelos scout.  Hard to believe those little boys are all now 6 foot tall.  lol.  In keeping with the old photos, I found these old papers and embellishments.
K&Company papers and stickers.  American Crafts Thickers.

And some more photos from our Camporee weekend.  The boys all had a great time playing the games.  And although they weren't always successful in completing the assigned task, they worked well together and managed to win 1st in the competition.  We were all so proud.

I had printed this photo years ago to scrap, but somehow it didn't happen (I think I changed my design and used fewer photos).  Well, this one was just too cute not to scrap.  I found this adorable sketch at Pagemaps, and it had an owl on it...of course, there was an owl in one of my Cricut cartridges that I had been dying to use.  That and a color palette from Color Combos Galore and.....done.

Cricut Cartridges, Cindy Loo and Straight From the Nest

Well, it is getting late, and I think there are still dinner dishes to be done.

Hope you have a great day.

Hugs.

It's Monday....

And it hasn't been pretty!  lol  So, just a quick update.  Winners from last weeks comments are in the post below.

What have I been up to?  Well, this....

Prima Papers, Hydrangeas and Butterfly.  Fancy Pants journaling card, Basic Grey Rubons, Heidi Swap Chippy

Which was super fun to make and I just love...even tho I got all inky and misty misting the flowers and the seam binding, and I remember now why I hate naked chipboard and have binged on buying Thickers.   I painted the ancient chippy blue with paint and then dunked it in the UTEE pot.  One piece, I think the I, jumped out of my tweezers and stuck to my finger.  Let me tell you UTEE...it burns.  I like the effect tho, sparkly, jewel like letters, and the burn isn't too bad.  lol  I found the color palette at Color Combos Galore.

There is a fun new sketch over at Sassy Lil' Sketches.

I have a photo and papers pulled for my next project, but I do believe I see this in my future.  hee hee

Hope you are having a great day!

Hugs.

Happy Labor Day Weekend

I hope you are having a fun, relaxing, whatever you want it to be Labor Day weekend!  Me?  so far, so good.  Yesterday we all went out for a big breakfast, yum!  And then Phil and I went to run a few errands.  I managed to go to the LSS and Michaels and buy nothing but more Zip Dry!  Hooray me!!!!  Of course, I came home and did some online shopping tho.  hee hee

Last night the boys and some of Brighton's friends went to the Green Day concert.  I love Green Day, but someone had to stay home with the girls.  So....movie night!  We watched Babies, which is definitely a must see!  Those babies are so stinkin cute.  The girls and I were laughing our heads off!  And then we watched The Last Song.  Mackenzie and I were both crying. I am not sure Ainsley really got the emotion of it all.  I guess sometimes it is good to be 9. All in all, a pretty emotional night I guess.

Well, enough of that...I have a few scrappy projects to share.  The first is for an upcoming tutorial on Ideas for Scrapbookers.  All about distressing!  It should be super fun and hopefully informative.  Look for it in about 10 days?

This is my bestie Chris and I on our girl's weekend a few weeks back.  I am ready to go again!  lol  I used the color palette from Color Combos Galore #157 for this one.   See those little doilies?  They are packaging from some new Prima flowers I bought.  You know, I was almost more excited to play with the packaging when it arrived than the flowers.  lol.

And here is another Color Combo palette.  This time #158.
I used a Pagemaps sketch for this.  All about our buys lives.  And let me tell you.  We are busy.  The girls are wanting to add guitar and drum lessons to the mix.  I just don't know how we are going to fit it all in.  I guess I will be living in my car.  lol  Wait, I already do!  hee hee

Well, think I am gonna go read, or maybe scrapbook.  hmmmmmmm

Hugs.
