Vintage Mint Kit - Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a mini album I made using the gorgeous Vintage Mint kit from Hydrangea Hippo featuring the Hope Chest collection from Pink Paislee.

I have a lot of chipboard sheets lying around and thought it would be fun to create my own mini album.  I started with two sheets of 6×8 inch chipboard.

I scored each at two inches along the long side.

And then cut the center out of one of the sheets (approximately 4×4).

I glued the two inch pieces together to create the binding of my album.
Then I poked holes with roughly a 1/2 inch spacing, one inch from the top and the bottom.

and painted the chipboard.
I then created the registers by folding a two pieces of 6×12 patterned paper in half, one inside the other, and poked a hole one inch from the top and bottom in the center fold.

I created four of these registers.  I then ran baker’s twine , from the Hydrangea Hippo Etsy shop, from the back of the chipboard, through the registers and back through the chipboard.  I then tied the twine tightly.

Once I completed all four registers I covered the chipboard with patterned paper and embellished it heavily.

This kit is full of so many gorgeous goodies; flowers, vinyl pieces, and the most beautiful feathers, not to mention the incredible trims.  Finally I  added a few butterflies that I printed and cut from the Internet.

Sister Paper Bag Mini Album - Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a project I made with some of the wonderful goodies from Hydrangea Hippo.

Jennifer has created the cutest little paper bag mini albums with 8 canvas pages (this one is in a lovely sage, but I also purchased natural, black and grey) and 16 paper bag pages tied in a neat little bundle with baker’s twine.  These little treasures are just waiting to be embellished.

Mixed with trims, lace, gorgeous flowers and other goodies from the store this mini album came together in a snap.

This kit includes fun motifs, fabulous colors, and interesting textures.  Be sure and grab yours today.

Great America = Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone! Today to share with you a fun project I made a few weeks ago using one of the gorgeous kits from the Hydrangea Hippo etsy store, and featured over on her blog, Hydrangea Hippo.    I always love Jennifer’s kits, and this one is no exception.  This kit is filled with beautiful papers from Allison Kreft for Websters Pages, fabulous ribbons and trims and of course all the gorgeous embellishments Jennifer's kits are known for.

Everything in this little mini was included in the kit.  All I added was the spiral binding and bits of paint and ink.  (The cover of this mini is a gesso-ed wood post card)  This kit should be available soon in the Hydrangea Hippo etsy store.  And you for sure don't want to miss it.

These are the Days - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today to share with you a project I made with the July kit from the Sampler.  Loving the transparent stickers in this kit.

It always makes me so happy to see how close my children are.  Even though Ainsley and Brighton are years apart, they still enjoy each other's company and can have so much fun together.  I think we are all going to be in tears this fall when Brighton goes off to University.  sigh

I added the little sun and cloud to the kit from my stash, as well as the little Maya Road flags.

A Quick Clock

Hi everyone!  Well, today I have a quick project for you that I made using an old clock (probably 9 years old) from Making Memories.  Although the children are a little mad at me for remaking this clock, I much prefer the new look.
Filled with some gorgeous blooms and laces from Hydrangea Hippo and a bit of packaging material from a Webster's Pages Craft Box this project came together in no time at all.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mixed Media Flowers - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone, Today I want to share with you a mixed media canvas I made using flowers from my Prima Grab Bag.  I grabbed four of these 6x6 canvases at the craft store and am looking forward to making a series of these in different colors.

I love the variety of flowers that come in these bags.  I also added bits of Prima trim, bits of bling.  I began by covering the canvas with scraps of Lyric and Almanac papers covered in gesso.   I then  used a bit of texture paste and a favorite stencil to create the layered effect.  Splatters and sprays of mists, followed by lots of flowers and canvas pieces, bits of trims and bling completed this piece.  I love the variety of flowers that come in the Prima Grab Bags from Your Memories Here.  I am working on making a video of how I created this canvas using a different color scheme and hope to have it ready for you soon.

College Prep - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you my final project using the June kit from the Sampler.

My children have picked up this fun game (water pong) from their friends. On this rainy day decided to set up a table under an EZ up to play.  This is a take on the popular college game, beer pong, designed for the younger set.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Mixed Media Bag

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a quick project I made using my Prima flower grab bagGlimmer Mist, and some Stickles.  Each grab bag is filled with a mixture of gorgeous blooms just waiting to embellish all of your projects.

For this project I selected a small canvas tote I picked up in the dollar bin.
The large flower I melted a bit with my heat tool to give it a bit more dimension.  Be careful, you don't want to burn your flower, just melt the fibers a bit.  (although, a little scorching around the edges gives it a lovely shabby chic feel.
Finally, I added a wood icon from Prima.  I really just can't seem to get enough of these little treasures lately.
