A Very Merry Christmas

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have been MIA for a few days.  The family and I have been having some much needed family time and celebrating the holiday.  It is so hard to imagine that next year, Brighton will be off at school and so we are doing a lot of family stuff.  Movies, games, just hanging out and talking.....

Today tho, I wanted to share with you some Christmas projects I made for Hydrangea Hippo using the Vintage Mistletoe kit.

I chose to start with an advent calendar.  Lili doesn't have one so I knew I wanted to create onefor her.  Being that she is still very young, I kept it simple.
Twenty-five simple rosettes, accented with some a few of the cute embellishments from the kit with magnets on the back...
And of course lots of glitter on the numbers that I cut using my Cricut machine
helped make this calendar simple, yet elegant.  Something my sister can proudly hang in her house, but still can be played with.
My second project is a mini album to house my December Daily photos.  I had been following a list I found on Pinterest...and although I have yet to print any of the photos that go inside, this year I did manage to take most of them.  lol  I just am not a December Daily person I guess.
Again, lots of the fun embellishments and trims help decorate my cover
and bits of the stickers, trims...
and fussy cutting round out my pages.  I really love the mix of papers and embellishments in this kit.
A simple binding with my Bind-it-All holds it all together.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs.

Challenge Time - The Sampler

Hey everyone!  Eeeek!!!  Can you believe it is only a few short days till Christmas?  I think, other than the food, I am just about done.  It has been a whirlwind of crazy activity...but the packages are shipped, the cards are mailed, and everything is wrapped and under the tree.

This next week or so, posts may be somewhat sporadic...since I am crazy busy with Christmas and enjoying time with my family.  But for the moment.....

How about the sketch challenge over at the Sampler!  Love me a Holly sketch.

And my take, using the December, Good Tidings kit.
Love these colors...and I think those huge Prima flowers are some of the best....evah
Oh, and gorgeous, sugared, dictionary print, chipboard letters...yummy!
And what a sweet girl.  lol

OK, well....lots to do this afternoon since it doesn't look like the world is ending.  Laundry, dishes, etc.

Merry Christmas.

Hugs.

Merry Page Drafts

Hi everyone!  I am just thrilled to share with you a little secret.  As you probably know, I love the sketches over at Page Drafts and have played along a few times.  I was just thrilled when Em asked me to help out with her Christmas Cheer release!  You have got to go over there and take a look at all the talented ladies work...I feel like such a slouch.  sigh

Anyway...there are seven gorgeous sketches to work with, and I am not teasing when I say the talent over there is crazy.

For now tho....here are mine.

Each layout features one of the five Christmas trees we set up this year.  This first project is the big tree in the living room...not the prettiest tree ever, and that is a story unto itself, but it is 12 feet tall and nearly impossible to get a photo of.  This multi photo sketch offered the opportunity to highlight bits and pieces of the tree.
And here is a smaller tree, this one in my office.  It features lots of penguins.  I think penguins are ever so cute, and the fact that our summer swim team is the penguins...well......
So that's it for me today....I also have posts up over at Hydrangea Hippo and the Sampler today that I will be back to show you soon.

Hugs.

Metallic Tags - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a few tags I made using some Ranger Distress Stains and miscellaneous goodies (many from my Prima Grab Bag at Your Memories Here) I had lying on my desk.   This is a fun technique and I can't wait to share it with you.

You will need some Distress Stains, including the newer Metallic stains, a craft mat, and your tag.
Add a bit of the colored stain and the metallic stain side by side...don't worry, the stains are designed not to pick up other colors, so you won't contaminate your bottle if the two colors mix.
Run your tag through the puddle of mist.  Remember that Distress Stains are water based, so if you want the colors to blend and flow a bit more, you can just spritz with a bit of water.
Don't forget...you can also stain a bit of ribbon or seam binding to match.
And here are my finished tags.  I used my Prima Press to stamp out the "to/froms" along with lots of goodies from my grab bag.  I always love having a mix of fun goodies around to add to projects like this.
Just look at the gorgeous sparkle and shine on what would have otherwise been a plain, red tag.
 And a bit of green....
You can mix the different metallics with the same stains to get a variety of textures and colors.
I am doing all brown paper packages this year under the tree and hope that these tags hope to brighten things up a bit.

Round ~ Round - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Last week I told you about the newest kit from the Sampler, Good Tidings.  Today I wanted to share with you a layout I made with this kit using more of the "holiday" elements.

Gorgeous Studio Calico wooden snowflakes, gorgeous sugary thickers, and the most gorgeous glittery ribbon trim highlight these photos of the holiday train that runs under our Christmas Tree.
I did add a bit of ball trim as well as the bakers twine from my stash to finish this project.

Be sure to grab your kit today in the Scrapbooking Supplies r Us store and check out the sketch and card challenges over on the Sampler blog, there are only a few days left to play!

Back to Nature

Hi everyone!  I hope that everyone had a great weekend!  Here we were busy with yet another swim meet, holiday shopping...and fortunately time with friends.

Today I want to share with you a project I made for that woman, Heather's, sketch challenge.  I love this sketch...just perfect for the bunches of photos I took of Ainsley when we cut down our tree.

It was such a beautiful day...the sun was shining, the birds were singing...hard to think about winter, and cold winds, and all that ho,ho, ho when it is so lovely outside.
Lots of older Origins papers from Basic Grey with these photos.  Bits of chipboard, tags, and brads.  Feels so good to use up some of my stash.

Well, lots to do today.

Hugs.

Cast a Light

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you the second little lampshade I made for the "night light" in my living room.

Lots of cute trims, bits of Prima flowers, and a few bling flourishes highlight the lampshade I colored with a bit of Glimmer mist.

Another, simple way to decorate my house for the holiday.

Enjoy the Season - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Sorry I am a bit late today, I was having problems with my photos....but I am here and excited to share with you this project I made with the Out of the Blue kit from Your Memories Here.  I took this photo of Mackenzie decorating the Christmas tree...well, really she was decorating herself, but.....

This kit is full of gorgeous Fairy Belle papers, bits of coordinating flowers, and lots of other gorgeous embellishments from Prima.  There is even a coordinating alphabet.
This kit is on sale now at the Your Memories Here store for only $20.00  And let me tell you, with all the goodies packed inside, it is well worth it.  I know I am going to have many more projects with this kit in my future.

Hugs.

Just the 2 of U - the Sampler

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have been MIA.  I have been working crazy hard to complete projects, just nothing I can share quite yet.  sorry..... Today I do want to share with you a project using the December kit, Good Tidings, from the Sampler.  I love that this kit has just a bit of holiday in it, not so much that it is only appropriate to holiday photos but just enough to say it is holiday.  And the red and aqua color palette?   Such a nice change from the red and green.

Although these photos were taken while cutting down our tree, the idea of little Santas or snowmen, really wouldn't work.  Especially with these two.  lol  I love how close they are...how well they get along.  I do  promise there are a few of those holiday items to  play with in this kit to go with this updated holiday color palette. I threw in a few sequins and buttons from previous kits.  hee hee
For now though, two of my little lovelies.

Don't forget about the sketch and card challenges over on the Sampler blog.  There is still plenty of time to play.  I know with the holidays you may find it hard to make time to play...but give them a go.  You have a great chance at winning some prizes.

Hugs.
