Embossing and Gelatos

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a project I made using Faber Castell Gelatos and embossing. Did you know that the embossing will resist the Gelatos? For this project you will need a canvas (I always gesso first so that my mediums can move more freely), your stamp, embossing liquid and embossing powder (I used UTEE today)

First thing, stamp your image with the embossing pad onto your canvas and cover with your embossing powder.

You can use a color if you like, but I decided to leave mine clear.

Be sure and heat your embossing powder completely. You want it to be nice and shiny when it is done.
When it cools, you can add color with your Gelatos. Remember, as long as you stick with either warm, or cool, you won’t get mud. I chose three different colors, red, orange and yellow in layers to get an ombre effect.

Before trying to blend the colors, I misted lightly with water…just to get things moving.
Using my fingers, so that I can get in all the little crevices of my embossed image, I worked from top to bottom; too much movement back and forth and I would have mixed my colors all up. Which would have been fun, but wouldn't have had the same effect

After I blended all my colors, I just quickly went over my canvas with a baby wipe. The wipe will remove the color from the top of the embossed image….go lightly, or you will begin to remove some of the color from the canvas as well.

I then added layers of paper, lace and a fun die cut that I highlighted with another Gelato and my Pitt Pen. I
really wanted the image to **POP**.

I die cut and colored a few flowers with Gelatos and voila! DH and I in Paris.

Thanks for stopping by today and sharing with me.  If you would like to learn more fun techniques like these, you should check out Creative Jump Start.

Musee D'Orsay

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a project I made using the beautiful  Lyric papers from Prima and my gorgeous Prima flower grab bag from Your Memories Here.

This photo is from the Musee D"Orsay in Paris.  Unfortunately you are unable to use flash photography in the museum and being that my family is a bunch of rule followers (lol) the photo is really dark.  Not as dark as it shows up in these photos, but dark.  sigh

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs.

New Adventure

Hi everyone!  Today I am a bit crazy...as you may or may not know, we were actually in Europe for a couple of weeks, couple that with a master bath remodel, and starting this years school....I guess you can understand why i am a bit late today.

Phil and I at Versailles.....Gorgeous.  Did a behind the scenes, a private rooms tour.  It was fabulous.  Very informative and gave us an opportunity to skip the lines and crowds.  love
Love touring up and down rivers, you know we love to cruise.  lol  This time on the river Siene.
Westminster Bridge looking back at Parliament.  Trying to be in more photos.
La Tour Eiffel.
Hampton Court with my man.  Sorry that he is in the shadows.  sigh Turning the camera over to others means some funky composition and lighting.
Hanging at the Tower of London with the BeefEaters.  Such a fun day and so educational...yes, we are counting our vacation as a field trip.  lol

Just a few photos from our adventures!  Needless to say, we had a great, one we won't soon forget.  And one I know you will see many more photos of as I begin to create scrapbooks.

In other news, I just made a Facebook Page...so, if you like you can follow me over there.  Thinking I need to work on building my business.  https://www.facebook.com/homesclscrapper
