Snowflakes and Dishes

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday!  Guess what I have to share with you today.....yep, more Christmas projects, this time with ClearScraps and my Cricut.

 I had this 6x6 circle mini album lying around in my stash for ages and thought how fun to turn it into a banner.

 

I simply cut some snowflakes and my sentiment from vinyl and attached it to the circles.  A bit of glitter thread and voila...a snowflake banner.  Of course I had to bling it up a bit with rhinestones in the centers of the snowflakes and beaded drops in between.

Wondering where the dishes come in?  Well, I decided to hang my banner over the kitchen sink.  I don't know about you, but it seems I am spending quite a bit of time hanging out over my kitchen sink these days and seeing this sparkle in the sunshine really helps the time go by much more quickly.

Holiday Ornaments With Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  I warned you last week, Christmas is coming so today I want to share with you a trio of simple holiday ornaments you can create this season.  

These ornaments are so easy to make with Clear Scraps Clear Craft Sheets and your favorite stickers, or in my case, printable vinyl I cut with my Cricut Explore.

I began by cutting the Clear Scraps Clear Craft Sheet into a circle using my Sizzix Die Cut machine.  Clear Scraps Craft Sheets are simple to cut with steel rule die cut machines, scissors...or purchase some of the fun shapes that are pre cut for you.  Clear Scraps has many shapes to chose from, including pre cut ornaments.  I then designed and cut my images on the Cricut to fit and applied to the acrylic.

To add extra interest, you can sand the back of your ornament for a frosted look.

Or maybe paint on some stickles, or alcohol inks.  The clear acrylic allows for so many fun options.

41 Days till Christmas

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday!!!!  Can you believe it is only 41 days till Christmas?  Well, I have been madly working on holiday gifts and decor around here and today I want to share with you a mini album I made for Clear Scraps.

I used the fun Christmas Mixable album and some older papers from Making Memories that have been in my stash forever.  Of course I also used some of my favorite Core'dinations Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft Core (love, love, love this stuff) for some extra shine and sparkle.

The reindeer I cut with my Cricut, and the snowflakes are a Simon Says Stamps die that I cut with my Sizzix Big Shot.  Love both those machines.

Lots of inking, and layering; along with a bit of distressing on all the fun pages.  And of course touches of Stickles and more metallic paper to brighten things up.

This "mini album" is a bit bigger than most, it is a full 12 inches high, so I was able to sneak lots of spaces in for photos and journaling.

Fall Leafy Wreath

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a fun fall project using a Clear Scraps Clear Craft Sheet and a mirror piece from a from the Oval Fancy Mirror Frame and one of my favorite fall Sizzix Dies, the Tim Holtz Layered Leaf.

Supplies Needed:

• Clear Scraps Clear Craft Sheet
• Clear Scraps Mirror
• Sizzix Tim Holtz Layered Leaf
• Big Shot Machine
• Embroidery Hoop
• Ribbon
• StazOn Inks in Fall Colors
• IRResistables Bronze
• Assorted Flowers
• Vinyl Words

Step 1:  Cut Clear Craft Sheet in thirds and die cut leaves.  I found by doing so I was able to create 9 leaves with just one sheet of Clear Acrylic.  The Clear Craft Sheet is simple to cut with a pair of scissors and it cuts even easier with the Sizzix die cut machine and steel rule dies.

Step 3:  After cutting, simply emboss with the coordinating Texture Fade.  The Texture Fade comes with the die, so a one stop shop.  Did you know that you can emboss your acrylic?  How cool is that?

Step 4:  Remove plastic covering from Clear Craft Sheet.  These leaves still have the sheets, but how cool do they look?

Step 5:  Ink leaves with Stazon and then spray backside with IrResistable spray in bronze.  The bronze irResistable spray really helps the leaves stand out while still highlighting the translucense of the acrylic.

Step 6:  Ink mirror piece in the same colors as leaves and attach words (I chose vinyl which I cut with my Cricut, but you could use a sticker, or leave this piece off all together)

Step 7:  Glue all pieces to embroidery hoop.  How simple is that?  I used a bit of Beacon Zip Dry.

Four Little Ghosties Hanging From A....

Hi everyone!  Today I want  to share with you a fun family project I made using one of the Clear Scraps, Clear Acrylic Sheets.  I love making fun kid's crafts during the holidays and you can't go wrong with sweet little feet.  hee hee  

I began by tracing little feet onto the clear acrylic sheet.  My feet ranged in age from 6 months to 5 years.   How cute is that?  Had I been more careful in the placement of the feet I could have gotten five little feet, but I easily fit four without any planning.

From there, I simply used my scissors to cut each foot shape out.  The acrylic sheets cut so easily with scissors.

From there, it was simply a matter of embellishing the "ghosts".  Some eyes cut with my Cricut from vinyl and some irRESISTible spray to give them some extra depth.  While I wanted my ghosts to be see through, I did want to be able to see them.  

A quick hole punch with my Crop a Dile and I was ready to string them up.  

The owner's of these little feet loved their ghosties and couldn't wait to hang them.  I think mom and dad were considering tracing their feet as well to create the entire family.

Simple Stories Clear Scraps Recipe Album

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a little something I made for my son.  Like many of you my children are growing up and moving out.  Well, after a year on his own, cooking for himself, my son decided he really wanted some of our favorite family recipes written down so that he could recreate them.  (I guess he likes my cooking.  hee hee).  Anyway, Clear Scraps to the rescue.  With the Acyrlic Recipe Stand kit I was able to create a functional recipe book for him in no time.

The kit comes with a mixture of chipboard and acrylic pages.  I chose to use a chipboard page for the front cover as well as for the "favorite" recipe in each category.

I used some older Simple Stories papers and embellishments I had in my stash as well as a few custom stickers I made with my Cricut.

I really like the print and cut function on my Cricut and created these stickers out of printable vinyl, so they should be quite sturdy.

This Simple Stories line had lots of cute kitchen related items that were just perfect for this project.

Although, I do wonder if the album may be just a bit to "girly" for him.  lol

while others I had to type up.

I also added some blank 4x6 pages to the kit so that I can continue to add recipes when he asks.

Needless to say the stand is getting a little thick.  But I know he will be eating well.

Grateful - Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  Sorry I still haven't been around much.  Just not a lot of mojo with all that's been going on with family.  Today I do want to share with you a simple gretting card I made with the Belgrave Send it Clear card base from Clear Scraps.  I have been having so much fun with this line from Teresa Collins Designs and am reaching the end of the kit.  sigh

I have lots of cute little journaling cards and pocket cards lying around from many different brands and have found they are the perfect size for embellishing the beautiful Send it Clear Card shapes.

By adding in an extra journaling card, I was able to add not only a lovely sentiment, but a place to write a sweet note to a friend or loved one without marring the beautiful journaling card I added to the back.

Magical Disney Mixable - Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have been such a slacker, but as you may or may not know my father and step mother were involved in a motorcycle accident...they were hit by a drunk driver.  I have been spending quite a bit of time in the ICU and haven't really had much of an opportunity to share.  That said, today I want to share with you a mini album I made using the super cute Mixable Magical 8x9 Album, back before the accident.

I really like the iconic shapes that are included in this mini, fun Mickey head, camera, and castle...this is the perfect mini to document your Disney vacation.  

I love that this album is 8x9.  The size allows me the opportunity to add plenty of photos.  And who doesn't have a ton of photos when they vacation.

And the different sizes and shapes add lots of opportunity for "peek a boos" and follow throughs.  So fun and interesting.

Now that I am back from my Disney Vacation I can't wait to add lots of photos.  It was so fun mixing all the cute Disney papers and embellishments I have had in  my stash.
