Pack Your Bags and Scoot to Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone! Today I wanted  to share with you a few projects I made with the Hydrangea Hippo Pack Your Bags and Scoot crafting kit that was featured over on the Hydrangea Hippo blog a few weeks ago.

When I saw this kit I loved the fun colors and embellishments and couldn't wait to start creating.  In the end, I was amazed at the variety of projects I was able to create.

Although this paper line from Echo Park seems geared toward younger children, I found that the colors and patterns when mixed with the kit embellishments were perfect for my older teen and started out with a 12x12 layout.
The sticker sheets and papers in this kit contained many train and travel related elements, so I decided to use my Cricut to cut a mini album in a train shape to feature a few of the photos from our cross country train trip.  Yes, this was just a few years ago.....look at those baby faces.  hee hee

And finally, for something completely different I decided to create a rose topiary as a bit of home decor.  I used my Tim Holtz pinecone die with my Sizzix and lots of the papers in the kit to make the roses.  I punched my butterflies out of the playing cards and then layered on the trims.  Hydrangea Hippo always has the most gorgeous trims.....

I still can't believe the variety of projects I was able to make with this kit.  From beautiful, spring, home decor, a project for an older teen, to a mini album filled with photos of my children when they were younger, this kit offers something for everyone.

Be sure and grab your kit today and get started creating.

Hugs.

Your A Star - Hydrangea Hippo

Hi everyone!  Well, today I wanted to share with you a  few projects I made for Hydrangea Hippo using one of the kits from the store.

Everything in these photos (except the adhesive can be found in this gorgeous kit.  I love that each of the kits includes an assortment of embellishments that can make any project special
All that is needed is a little creativity and a bit of adhesive and you are good to go.  I like foam squares.  hee heeNext I decided to make a mini album.  This kit is so full there are still plenty of goodies left for that.

This set includes a cute little paper bag that I used as the cover for my album.  Not only does the bag add some sturdiness, but it creates a cute little pocket to hold a few extra photos.

Finally, I couldn't resist scrapbooking a 12x12 layout of my son with his new car.  The colors and embellishments in this kit were just perfect.

This kit includes some yummy yellow glitter and blue chalk ink that I had to put to use over and over again on these projects.  And I know it is hard to believe, but there were still some scraps left over.
Be sure and check out this kit...and all the other wonderful goodies available now in the Hydrangea Hippo Store.

Oh My....

Sorry everyone.  Yesterday I was up super early as the children now have morning swim practice (5:00 am for Brighton, 5:45 for Mackenzie) and somehow it just slipped my mind that I needed to blog here.  oops.

Good thing that come Thursday we are having a Sampler Blog Hop and I will be able to share my project then.  hee hee
Well, how about something from Pink Paislee while we wait?

The Declaration collection from Pink Paislee is just gorgeous, full of fun patterns and colors that are good for so much more than just 4th of July.  I love the elements for boy pages.  Sometimes it is hard to find papers and embellishments for the older boys in our lives.
I used a sketch from Page Drafts which I have just fallen in love with lately.
Bits of mists with a mask, bakers twine, and many layers of foam dots under my stickers helped to add dimension.

OK,  Well....Back to work.

Hugs.

Genuine and a Giveaway

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day.  Me?  not so sure as I am actually typing this up the night before it goes live.  Tomorrow I am getting canned lights put into the ceiling in my scrap/office/guest room. So, since I may not have a computer I thought I would jump ahead....just in case.  hee hee

Well, other than sharing that bit of information, I wanted to share with you a project I made at the Prima NSD crop.  Did I mention that we had access to tons of flowers and trims...well, and paper?  I am saving some of those for another day.

But for today....here is Brighton.  I have had the Genuine collection from Authentique sitting in my stash for quite a while and was really excited to get a chance to play with it.
I did quite a bit of distressing with my Prima distress tool and the Prima chalk inks.  I really like the chalks, but I think I may still be a Distress Ink girl.  And I am so digging the chevron pattern.
I found lots of gorgeous flowers in the bins available to us at Prima...and the lace trims...to dye for.  This time I used pan pastels.  Maybe I do need to invest in a set?  hmmmmm

Love the Prima bling I found, and the metal flowers.  Just yummy.

Well, time for bed.  I am going to be dreaming of what color to paint my room when it is done.  I have some toile pattern in the room and a denim futon.  I am thinking a bright, sunny yellow, but then I saw a beautiful Tiffany blue.  What do you think?  Maybe pink?  hmmmmm Leave me a comment on what color you think I should paint and become a follower.  I will pick a winner to receive this older, but brand new book.  (US and Canada please).
Hugs.
