Be Inspired - Sampler

Hi everyone!  Sorry I am a bit late today....

Today I want to share with you a project I made using the June Kit, Walking on Sunshine from the Sampler.

I really love the colors in this kit and have been having a great time playing with it.  That said....the July kit is gorgeous.

45-Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a great day.  Busy, busy, busy here...as usual.  hee hee

Today I want to share with you a project I made for my Book of Me, using the gorgeous Almanac collection from Prima Marketing that I got in my Grab Bag from Your Memories Here.

Lots of lovely flowers, chipboard and gorgeous papers are in these grab bags.  Not to mention the beautiful butterflies, tiles, trinkets and gems.

You can't go wrong with a grab bag from Your Memories Here, be sure and grab yours before they are all gone.

The Sampler - Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you the layout I made using the April kit from The Sampler and this month's sketch from the sketch challenge.  

And here is my take...

I love, love, love the great textures in this month's Sampler kit.  Tape, burlap, lace...oh my! and I know you will to.  Be sure and stop by the Sampler Blog and check out the card and sketch challenge and see what the other girls did as well as seeing how you can win a fabulous group of goodies from The Sampler.  You don't need to have a Sampler kit.  Just play along for fun and a chance to win!  How easy is that?

Misting Fabric

Hi everyone!!!  Last Saturday was National Scrapbook Day for many of us and I managed to convince my family to give me a bit of a break so I could play with my supplies.  I found a fun challenge over on Scrapbook.com and decided to participate.  The challenge was to make a mini album featuring yourself.  I love mini albums so this was right up my alley.  Lots of great products from the Your Memories Here store made the album come together quickly.

I started with some plain canvas, three of my favorite colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and a water sprayer.

The first thing I did was spray my fabric with water to dampen.

 Then I began spraying with color.  Starting with the darkest color, the one I wanted on the bottom.....

then adding my next color, being sure to overlap a bit....

And finally the color I wanted on top.

I then took a 1 inch paintbrush and blended the colors.  After all the water and mist, the fabric was quite damp and it was easy to blend the colors just how I wanted.

Here is my final, dyed fabric.  Starting with a damp fabric really helps the colors flow and blend.

From there, I dry brushed a bit of white paint over the top and inked the edges.  I glued the fabric to chipboard for the cover of my album and with the help of my Bind it All....

a few Prima flowers and leaves, a Prima Journaling Card, Prima alphabet, and some gorgeous Vintage Trinkets and my album was finished.

I will be back tomorrow to share the inside pages.  Not all of them are complete and some of the journaling is a secret...but you know me...I love to share!

Busy, Busy

But not in the way you probably think.  lol

Today, I woke with horrible allergies.  So, I decided to take it easy.  Mackenzie went to morning swim practice.  Ainsley and Brighton went to afternoon.  Other than a bit of housework and a friend over for Ainsley it was a very uneventful day.  Which, gave me lots of time to play.  What a nice change.

My good friend, Heather, challenged me at the beginning of the month to scrapbook 30 photos.  Which, with my current affinity for single photo layouts looked to be quite a challenge.  But, with all the time I had today, it was one I was up to.

The first one is from this weeks Sassy Lil Sketches blog.  Which, was a great layout for lots of photos (6!!!)

From Color Palette 148 over at Color Combos Galore and a flip, rotate, reassemble of Got Sketch #100.

Finally, based on a sketch and color scheme over at Pagemaps....

How much would I love to win all those gorgeous laser cute chippies.  sigh.....

Well, so that makes 29...technically, not done yet.  But I do have another layout here, waiting to be uploaded to the Your Memories Here blog for my last reveal as a GDT member.  I have loved working with their products and look forward to summer CHA and the need to stock up again!  lol  Seriously, if you haven't been buy, you should definitely check them out.

Well, off to finish dinner.  Meatless Monday here so we are having cheese enchiladas with a big salad and a plum/berry crumble for dessert.  yummmmmm
