Ready for My Closeup

Hey everyone!  Happy Wednesday.  Hope your day is off to a great start.  Lots going on here....I can't believe how quickly time is flying.  Still working on the stash tho...and one of my favorite ways to use up some of this paper is by creating with cut files.  Today a camera from SVGCuts.

This little camera box is so cute and will easily hold a stack of 4x6 photos.  How awesome is that. Made with some older Fancy Pants papers.....it was a real stash buster.  lol

I really am enjoying the new Cricut Explore.  I am still able to cut all my old cartridges and now svg as well.  Ain't life grand.

Me & U and SVG Cuts

Hi everyone!  Happy almost Valentines Day!  I hope you spend this weekend devoted to love with those you love and care for.

Today I wanted to stop by and share this little box I made using a cut from SVGCuts.  It is from the Vintage Valentines Kit...and I just love it.  I of course made the box itself from Core'dinations Cardstock.  The 110lb is the perfect weight for home decor and boxes....I inked the sides of the box to have them coordinate with the older Fancy Pants papers I found in the stash.  Of course, I couldn't resist adding a layer of rhinestone stickers from The Buckle Boutique as well as a few flowers from my stash.

This is the Life- Fancy Pants

Hello everyone!   Woo, another weekend behind us...how time seems to be flying by.  Happy Columbus Day?  Well, anyway, today I am at a Prima Retailer event and can't wait to share what I learn, but in the interim, I thought I would share with you another layout using some older papers and supplies from my stash.  This time, Fancy Pants.

This was the Daily Grind collection.  Love the transparency.  Why did I not use all the transparencies back in the day.  They really add so much depth to your project.  hmmmmmm

You Make Me Smile

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day.  Things here are still crazy busy, but I am trying to be a better blogger.  Funny, you would think with summer I would have so much more time.

Today I want to share with you this layout I made using some older Fancy Pants papers and some of the super fun clear banners from Clear Scraps.  Did you know you can use your Stazon ink to stamp on them?  Then, I used my Kaisercraft Kaiserfusion markers to color.  So super fun, and so unique.

I really love this photo of Ainsley, she is growing so fast.

Astronomy

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day!!!  Me...getting ready for the transit of Venus.  I have always been interested in astronomical events and these last few weeks haven't disappointed.  First the Solar Eclipse, and today the transit.  In just a few hours I will lug my huge ole telescope out to the yard so that we can watch.  And yes, I have a solar filter...I will not (and you shouldn't either) ruin my eyes looking at the sun.

A few weeks ago we watched the solar eclipse and I had to of course take photos...which meant this....

 goodness...who knew that taking photos thru the eyepiece of a telescope would be so difficult.  lol

Mackenzie of course refused to let me take any photos of her...sigh.  Hopefully today!

I used some old miscellaneous Fancy Pants papers to complete this layout, along with some brads from Echo Park left over from my Sampler kit.

More Pumpkins

So, the other day I told you how much my children love going to the pumpkin patch every year.  Here are a few more pages from this years trip and a few of the older photos from 2004.

Ainsley was just a baby in 2004, she had just turned 3.  sigh....how time flies. 

Now she is so grown up.  We just had her hair cut for donation and she is still getting used to her shorter 'do.

These are lovely "vintage" Scenic Route papers.  sigh....Sometimes I really miss this company, such great bold colors and patterns.  I added in a few newer Prima flowers to update the look a bit.

Bad, Bad Blogger

Hi everyone!  Well, I think I have come to realize that life is just too crazy busy on the weekends and Mondays.  So here I am on Tuesday, making my first post in days.  Sorry.....

Anyway..... Last week I took my little darlings to the pumpkin patch.  This is a yearly even and my children are just about sick of it!  lol  Luckily for me, they know how much I enjoy going and how important it is to get the photo of them in front of the "Standing Tall" sign.  We now have the patch down to a science.  The children run around, find the sign, pose...run to the pumpkin king and queen chairs and pose...then into the patch for some fun photos.  If they are lucky, they find everything in less than 20 minutes and they can get back to their day.  hee hee.....Lucky for us, the sign was easily located this year.

Anyway....I just can't give it up!  I have photos of all the children in front of the sign for the last...oh goodness....maybe 14 years?

Well, I only went digital in 2004, so here is Brighton back then.....

The Last One...

Hi everyone!  Well, today is the last DT layout I have for Sassy Lil' Sketches.  After 16 months....well...so sad to see this end.

This probably won't be my last Sassy layout tho, because I am playing along with this weeks huge send off!  Afterall....there are 8 ebooks to be won!  And tons of time to play!

You can see I took quite a few liberties with the sketch.  After flipping it on its side, I divided the large photo into 3 parts.  I used two for the photos and the third for embellishments and journaling.  These photos are of my family hanging out in Vancouver with some super kewl street art.  I want street art now where we live.  hee hee

Just wanted to drop in real quick and share a couple of layouts I recently finished....

These are my three darlings all set to ride in Stanley Park, Vancouver.  As you can see I am still working through my huge stash of papers.  These are from Fancy Pants, the Happy Together collection.  I managed to use one of the beautiful transparencies as well as a few glitter cuts.  This one will be on Ideas for Scrapbookers as my example of a monochromatic layout.  The huge transparency really made this come together quickly.  Not much need for further embellishment.  hee hee

And here are Phil and Ainsley checking out the glacier from our verandah on the Disney Wonder.  Such a great trip.  Are you tired of looking at my photos yet?  hee hee.....Anyway, Phil was teaching her to use the binoculars.  This was based on a sketch from Once Upon a Sketch.  I didn't use the journaling criteria, and I moved my title, but.....

Sorry....

I know, I say that all the time, but really!  I am.  Life has just been crazy busy with the kitchen remodel and the last weeks of swim season.  I have had meetings just about every night and of course there are always a few extra glitches in the schedule.  Just to keep things interesting.

So, before I bore you with all my problems...how about if I share a few of the projects I have eeked out some time for.

First up, using a super cute sketch from my friend Heather...Ainsley!  She loves posing for the camera.  We shot these on the Fourth of July, right before we left to go watch fireworks!  She is growing up too fast.  She loves fashion!

 And here is Mackenzie at the overnighter.  I used some GCD papers that Heather sent me a while back.  They have just been sitting in my stash.  I really need to declutter.  If anyone is interested in coming and doing it for me???  hee hee  I probably wouldn't even know if half of my stuff went missing.  KWIM?  It is a disease!

Fancy Pants It's the Little Things

OK, so there is the scrappy stuff.

Did I mention we are in the home stretches of the kitchen remodel?  Here are a few photos.

The cabinets and granite/marble (the island is marble) are in for these photos.  Kevin even managed to get a bit of the tile in so we could begin to see how it would look. I even managed to fill them up.  Goodness it feels good to be out of boxes.

Of course, I say I am out of boxes...but there are still bunches of them in the garage.  sigh.  Some of for a shelving unit we will need to put back up after paint.  And others are boxes we need to go through and get rid of things.

This is really cool too.  My microwave is in a drawer.  Yep....it is a drawer.  We didn't really  have any upper space to put it, so it is in the lower cabinet.  Very convenient.

I love my new faucet!  So I had to share.

I really should go run and grab some more photos.  The tile, including the mural is in.  The hood is in, although it needs to be replaced as there was a manufacturing error...sigh.  I guess one glitch isn't too bad.

But first....I have got to get back to pushing paper for the swim team.

Oh Goodness

Time is getting away from me.  These early mornings are just about doing me in.  The days are flying by.  Luckily, yesterday flew by in a haze of creativity.  I managed to get a few pages completed.  Woo hoo!!!  It felt so good.

This first one is based on my good friend Heather's sketch for Scraptastic.   They have got some of the cutest kits.  You really should check them out!  And yep, that is me....almost 45.  Hard to believe.  When did I get so old?

This next one is another of Heather's fabulous sketches!  Heather!!!  Thanks so much for helping me be so productive!  Your sketches rawk!  This is Ainsley....who, when she gets mad, packs her bag so she can move out.  sigh....  I don't know whether to laugh or cry when she does this, so I decided to take photos.  I convinced her about 1/2 way down the block that she really shouldn't run away barefoot as her feet might get cold, so she came back.

Lili...

Are ya'll getting tired of looking at photos of my adorable niece?  She is such a cutie, and it is nice to have pictures of a baby to scrap again.

These are both based on sketches from Sassy Lil' Sketches.  Sketches just make everything so much easier, don't you think?  Well, anyway.  Recently Lili and my sister came over to spend the afternoon.  We had a great time playing.  She rode the rocky pony...I knew I was holding on to it for a reason....

For dinner, I made homemade pizza.  Everyone got to design their own favorite combination.  Lili wasn't familiar with this concept (she will be 2 in a week...eeek...where did the time go).  As you can tell by the sauce all over her face, she loved it!  And, she loved climbing all over the table to try and get more.  hee hee

Mackenzie....

Just a quick post to to share a couple of layouts with you featuring Mackenzie.  She is growing way too fast.  Hard to believe she will be a teenager soon.  eeeek!  

Here she is on the day we went snowboarding in Winter Park...well, she went snowboarding.  I skied for a bit then went to get warm and sit in the lodge.  lol  I used a Pencil Lines sketch and some older Fancy Pants papers.  And of course, more of my stickled Cricut snowflakes.  I am so over doing winter pages.  lol

And here she is...just smiling for the camera.  Lots of Cosmo Cricket papers here with bits of flowers and bling.  She really is growing way too fast.

Well, gotta run!  Thursdays have become insane around here with Brighton attending one of the local Junior Colleges.  I so can't wait for him to be able to drive.

More Scrapiness

I am back with a few more projects to share with you.

Bazzil Cardstock, My Little Yellow Bicycle - Zach's life, everything else.

Brighton is getting so big, so fast.  Hard to believe he will be driving soon.  sigh  A pagemaps sketch.  I really struggle with boy pages.  Trying to find embellishments is so hard.  

Brighton and his cousins both got the new Xbox Kinect for Christmas.  We spent most of the afternoon playing video games.  If you aren't familiar with the game, your body is the controller.  You jump and move and your avatar does what you do.  Super fun, quite a workout!  Even the adults (grandma and grandpa included) got in on the action.  Another pagemaps sketch.  Lots of Fancy Pants here.  Remember, trying to work through some of the stash to make room for new stuff.  It is an addiction I tell you.

Projects

Over the weekend Ainsley and Brighton had our Zone Championship meet for swim.  So, Phil and they were gone most of the weekend.  So, what did I do?  Well, tons of chores....they never seem to end, a bit of computer stuff (Phil just updated my computer) and  some scrapping!  Yeah me!!!!

The first project I wanted to share is one that I have had laying on my desk for quite some time.  You may remember that I made some memo pad holders by Kaiser Kraft last year for Christmas?  Well, they had come in a pack on 3, and I finally got around to making the last one.  I don't know what I am going to do with it as often happens with these projects, but I am really happy with how it turned out.  I used some older Fancy Pants papers, a bit of Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Tattered Rose and lots of bits of trims and flowers.  I even tossed in a cameo and frame.

This one is based on a pagemaps sketch I had lying around.  I love these photos of Ainsley.  She had so much  fun in the snow.  If only it hadn't been so cold.  Lots of Fancy Pants here too.  I am trying to use up some of the stash to make room for all the new things that will be coming out after CHA!  That is my beautiful niece, Caitlin, with her on the tubing hill.  Such a sweet girl.

Goodbye Weekend, I Enjoyed You So

Such a great, busy, busy, weekend.


As you can see, the blog redesign is done.  Hope you like it!  The house is clean! The laundry is done!! The refrigerator is stocked with lots of yummy, nutritious foods!  Woo hoo!!!!  The children had a great swim meet...even tho it was only in the 60s and raining.  And, best of all.....
