Projects

Over the weekend Ainsley and Brighton had our Zone Championship meet for swim.  So, Phil and they were gone most of the weekend.  So, what did I do?  Well, tons of chores....they never seem to end, a bit of computer stuff (Phil just updated my computer) and  some scrapping!  Yeah me!!!!

The first project I wanted to share is one that I have had laying on my desk for quite some time.  You may remember that I made some memo pad holders by Kaiser Kraft last year for Christmas?  Well, they had come in a pack on 3, and I finally got around to making the last one.  I don't know what I am going to do with it as often happens with these projects, but I am really happy with how it turned out.  I used some older Fancy Pants papers, a bit of Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Tattered Rose and lots of bits of trims and flowers.  I even tossed in a cameo and frame.

 I also found the time to do a few layouts.

This one is based on a pagemaps sketch I had lying around.  I love these photos of Ainsley.  She had so much  fun in the snow.  If only it hadn't been so cold.  Lots of Fancy Pants here too.  I am trying to use up some of the stash to make room for all the new things that will be coming out after CHA!  That is my beautiful niece, Caitlin, with her on the tubing hill.  Such a sweet girl.

Mackenzie on Christmas morning.  (sorry about the photo, need to clean my window, hee hee).  Another pagemaps sketch and lots of yummy Crate paper.   She got the new Nook Color and just loves it!  She is quite the avid reader so it will come in very handy.  We can even download books from our local library!  And, with the new she can browse the internet and play games and such with the Android apps.

Hey Guys!

After a very busy weekend, we come to Monday.  Why does Monday always have to come after the weekend. It seems I am just getting settled, maybe getting a little rest, and then all of a sudden.....BOOM!!! back at it again.

At least this week there is no swim!  Yep...no swim!!!!!  For the next few weeks we will not be swimming, no practice, no meets, no meetings.  ahhhhhh.  I can almost feel the relaxation coming.  And I say almost because, well, even tho swim season is over we still have ballet summer intensive through the end of the week.  And it is parent observation!  So this is my rare opportunity to watch Mackenzie in action.  Oh well, soon enough we will all be able to sleep in.  And speaking of sleeping in....

Brighton.  He slept till 10:30 today.  So unusual for him.  Do you think he might be growing? again?  That boy is becoming a giant!  He had a great meet over the weekend.  Maybe he is just tired?  He managed a few new A times and even swam the A relay.  So proud!!!

Ainsley wasn't quite as successful with her meet.  She just aged up and is now swimming 50s instead of 25s.  But I am sure she will be getting those times back up soon.

This was our last meet swimming for Splash.  The children are sad to be leaving their friends, but excited to be moving to the new team and making new friends.  Phil is already getting told he will be needing a promotion soon.  hee hee  He can't stay a stroke & turn judge forever I guess.  

Well, all of this swimming and housework didn't leave much time for scrapping, but I did find time to make these....

for our swim team coaches.  I stuffed a chocolate bar, a gift card and a little note inside.  Totally lifted these off my co-Sassy, Cheryl.    She made the cutest candy bar holders using her Gypsy and Design Studio.  Well, I don't have a Gypsy, or a Design Studio, so I had to improvise.  My good friend Heather made the folder file for me in Inkscape.  I found the lemon here.

2 Days in a Row....

And, I still am maintaining some of my sanity!  Yep, I found time to fit it all in!!!

I can't believe that cabana swim season is almost over!  Only a few more days....crazy, pull my hair out days...but only a few more.

Did I mention how we are just not having any fun this summer?  I know...you look at the pictures and we are doing so much...but it just seems to be work.  I am really looking forward to everything being done, having some down time.  And it seems I am not alone.  Many of the moms I talk to feel the same.  hmmmmmm  No one seems to be having fun?

I think part of it is that I am missing my paper terribly.  I have touched a few little projects.  Invitations for Ainsley's birthday party, a layout I love for my first Sassy Lil Sketches assignment (nope, you have to wait), another layout for Sassy Lil Sketches (July 7 sketch),

And a fun box I made using my Sizzix over on Ideas For Scrapbookers.

Well, just about time to run out to the pool...surprise, surprise, surprise.  But before I do, did you see the sale they have going on over at Your Memories Here?   Lots of yummy goodness, including the best deal I have ever found on Glimmer Mists.

Busy, Busy

But not in the way you probably think.  lol

Today, I woke with horrible allergies.  So, I decided to take it easy.  Mackenzie went to morning swim practice.  Ainsley and Brighton went to afternoon.  Other than a bit of housework and a friend over for Ainsley it was a very uneventful day.  Which, gave me lots of time to play.  What a nice change.

My good friend, Heather, challenged me at the beginning of the month to scrapbook 30 photos.  Which, with my current affinity for single photo layouts looked to be quite a challenge.  But, with all the time I had today, it was one I was up to.

Well, off to finish dinner.  Meatless Monday here so we are having cheese enchiladas with a big salad and a plum/berry crumble for dessert.  yummmmmm

Peace and Quiet

It is late at night and I finally have a little peace and quiet here.  The last few days have been a blur, with the swim meet, the overnighter (didn't bother actually sleeping) and Father's Day.

I did a blog today over at Your Memories Here using lots of their yummy products and a sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches.

I have been having a great time blogging for them these past few weeks.  Who knew a guest DT job would be so fun.  If you haven't had a chance, you should definitely check out their store.

Well, today we are off to Great America, a little pre-celebration of Ainsley's birthday.
