Don't Box Me In - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you a project I made using some gorgeous Prima paper from the Annalee collection I purchased at Your Memories Here.  With just one sheet of paper and my Cricut I was able to create this beautiful box for one of Mackenzie's friend's birthday.

After cutting the box with Cricut Craft Room (so glad I am finally able to use now that I can link my Gypsy) I began the embellishment with some custom dyed lace (dyed of course with my trusty mists). I then decorated the box with some beautiful flowers and leaves from the Your Memories Here store

 as well as one of the cute little wooden bird icons.  Oh, how I am loving these little wood pieces.

We filled the inside with treats and a bit of cash (it is so hard to buy for teens) I know she just loved it.

A Gift to Give - The Sampler & Bind it All

Hi everyone.  I wanted to pop in really quick and say "hi" and share a quick project I made using my Two Scoops from the Sampler and my Bind it All.

The colors and patterns in the May kit are super cute.  My favorite though has to be the Be Amazing paper from My Minds Eye.  The hexagons are just so fun to play with.

The kit came with a cute little gift bag that was just begging for embellishment.  Hexagons, glitter paper and my Bind it All to the rescue.

After folding the top of the bag, I punched with my Bind it All allowing me the holes I needed to thread my ribbon.

So quick and so easy.

Your Memories Wednesday

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to stop by and share with you a project I made for Your Memories Here using a fun new die I had Kristina special order for me (remember....she will make special orders for you to!  just ask) and some gorgeous Prima products.

 

I saw this little suitcase die and just fell in love.  The finished project measures 4x3 so is the perfect size for small gifts, gift cards, or....well, I will show you next week.

I covered the chipboard with some Annalee paper before running it through my die cut machine, making assembly very easy.  I then embellished the suitcase with lots of yummy Prima flowers, tiles, chipboard, bling and even bits of Prima packaging.

I dyed some seam binding using a number of different mediums to get a slightly variegated look, including Ranger Distress Stain and Glimmer Mists.

OK, well, back to work for me.

Mojo?

Did you ever have one of those days...you know...where you have stacks of photos, tons of lovely papers, time to play...and no desire to pick up a photo and do something with it?  Well, that was me the other day.  I really felt like creating, but not doing layouts.  I guess sometimes it just happens.  So, what do I do?


 I create little doo dads....hee hee

I am always in need of little boxes to hold miscellaneous supplies and left overs.  I have used this Sizzix die many times for just that as well as gift boxes.  This time I used a sheet of Romance Prima paper from the Annalee collection.

I embellished the box with lots of Prima Resist canvas that I colored with my Distress Stains.  I also used the stains to lightly color some mini roses to match.  I love having white flowers around as I can die them to match my projects.  I topped it all with a gorgeous Prima vine and a little birdhouse from my summer CHA Prima grab bag.

It was a super fun project to create, and while it didn't make me want to scrapbook photos, I had a lot of fun making it.  As a matter of fact, I made two other non photo projects that I will be back to share tomorrow.

2 Days in a Row....

And, I still am maintaining some of my sanity!  Yep, I found time to fit it all in!!!

I can't believe that cabana swim season is almost over!  Only a few more days....crazy, pull my hair out days...but only a few more.

Did I mention how we are just not having any fun this summer?  I know...you look at the pictures and we are doing so much...but it just seems to be work.  I am really looking forward to everything being done, having some down time.  And it seems I am not alone.  Many of the moms I talk to feel the same.  hmmmmmm  No one seems to be having fun?

I think part of it is that I am missing my paper terribly.  I have touched a few little projects.  Invitations for Ainsley's birthday party, a layout I love for my first Sassy Lil Sketches assignment (nope, you have to wait), another layout for Sassy Lil Sketches (July 7 sketch),

And a fun box I made using my Sizzix over on Ideas For Scrapbookers.

Well, just about time to run out to the pool...surprise, surprise, surprise.  But before I do, did you see the sale they have going on over at Your Memories Here?   Lots of yummy goodness, including the best deal I have ever found on Glimmer Mists.

Gift Card Giving

This is a copy of the class I helped with at Inspired to Scrap.  For a list of all the design team members holiday posts, be sure to head over there.

I don't know about you, but for some reason I don't just love giving a gift card for a holiday or birthday.  It seems so ...well, I guess I am just old fashioned.  Don't get me wrong, I love getting them, but.....Because of that, I like to make something more personal to hold the gift card in.

This year I came up with a couple of ideas for holding the gift cards.

You may have seen a few of these paper trees around.  They are super easy to make.  I started with a foam cone shape from the local craft store.  I decided to mix it up a bit by cutting a slit in the bottom of the cone so that I could insert a gift card which I had placed in a binder clip.  The blinder clip provides a stand for my tree and allows for easy removal of the gift card.  I covered the cone with rectangular scraps of paper approximately 1 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch.  I curled the edges, and starting at the bottom worked my way to the top, layering each piece in a spiral fashion.  After adhering all the paper to the cone I added bits of bling flourishes I cut apart.  After the gift card is removed, you still have a fun, festive, holiday decor item.

The next gift I made was for those coffee shop gift cards we are all so fond of getting and receiving.  I hand cut the card from a template (which I have included here) and decorated.  The card can stand on its own and I thought it made the perfect theme gift.

 And finally, a money holder.  It is the perfect size for bills, a chocolate bar, savings bond, etc.  I have attached a template for this one as well.

Well, off to maybe get some fun things to go inside of these.
