Vintage Paper Christmas Tree

Yep, it's the holidays and that means I have been making tons of holiday decorations for the house, many with my Cricut, because...gosh, it is just so fun.

Today I want to share with you a paper Christmas Tree I made using a file from SVGCuts and papers from Prima.  This project was super easy to make once you get the folding figured out.   Luckily there is a video detailing how to assemble the tree.  And, it is a cute little box that you can light.

 I love these vintage papers from Prima Marketing....I just added a bit of ink and some gorgeous Stickles to make the tree come to life.

I found some fun, battery operated twinkle lights at Target that I can fit inside to light up the tree.  Thanks for stopping by.

Light Up my Teacup Gift

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday!  Today I wanted to share with you a project I made using one of my favorite Brenda Walton for Sizzix dies, The Bigz 3-D Teacup, a sheet of older Prima paper, and of course some fun electronics from Chibitronics.

I began by creating the teacup shape.  Love this shape for creating a "grown up" goodie bag and lighting it up makes it just that more special.

After creating the cup I created my parallel circuit using the copper tape from Chibitronics as an additional embellishment.

From there, it was simply a matter of hiding my battery with a few embellishments and to continue embellishing with items from my stash, Prima flowers, bling, chipboard and even a little tassle.

I really love the way this little cup turned out.  Filled with a few beautiful chocolates it made such a lovely gift.

You Light Up My Cupcake Stand

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day!  Today I want to share with you a fun project I made using the Cupcake Stand Sizzix die, some fun Prima Marketing Papers, and my favorite Chibitronics LED lights.

To begin you will need to attach your patterned paper to mat board and run through the die cut machine to create the needed shapes.  Attaching your patterned paper first ensures you get a good, clean cut.  The stand is easily assembled from there.  I added a bit of lace around the bottom of the die cut for extra interest.

The copper tape adds another embellishment and was simply wrapped around all four sides of the stand.  Try to keep your lines straight and your lights will easily fit right in.

I attached the battery on the underneath of the cupcake stand so that it could easily be replaced or removed when not in use.  Be careful that your copper tape does not touch, you don't want to short out your battery.

This was a super fun and easy project to create and makes that cupcake something special when presented.

A Little Mixed Media RAK

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a little mixed media canvas I made for a swap with a group on Facebook.  The swap didn't go so well....someone who shall remain nameless flaked on me, but....Karma.

Anyway, I really liked the way this canvas turned out and had been waiting to share it and hers...but you know how that goes.  sigh

The individual whom I was swapping with said she really liked white, so.....lots of shades of white and cream...a few of my favorite goodies, canvas, wood, Prima flowers, bits of older papers....it is hard to see, but there is some inking, some gesso, etc.

I hope that she really likes her canvas and the other goodies I sent.  I have decided to take the high road and believe that if someone really needs this canvas and a few other goodies that badly, then I will look at this as a RAK as opposed to a swap.

Clear Scraps Trinket Box

Happy Wednesday, Nancy here today to share with you an acrylic box I made.  I love these little boxes that came out at the CHA Winter Mega Show.  

I chose to keep the box fairly simple, adding just a bit of lace sticker around the sides, along with a piece of Prima chipboard in the front.  

The inside bottom was lined with a piece of Rowlux film, giving it a fun sea glass texture .  This film is super fun to use when designing projects as it offers a great texture with ease of cleanup.  Oh, and it comes in so many fun textures and colors...Go check it out.

Finally for the top I added a large doily that I cut with my Sizzix,  a few bits and pieces of Prima flowers and fussy cut papers, along with a few chipboard pieces.  Oh, and how fun is that little tassle I found in my stash?  I think it is Prima as well.

This box was quite simple to assemble and embellish and will sit on my night stand to hold little trinkets while I sleep.

Shabby Little Paper Bag Pockets

Hey everyone!  Happy Wednedsay.  Today I wanted to stop by and share a shabby chic paper bag pocket and tags I made for a swap I was in.

 Filled with beautiful papers, resins, hand dyed lace and seam binding, these tags make my shabby heart sing.

I love this older Almanac paper from Prima Marketing.   I have been hoarding some of the items for years.

I of course used lots of inking and bits of  everything I had, some hand colored designs and of course some mini roses and stick pins.

I really hope she liked it all.

Carte Recipe Box

hi everyone!  hope you had a great weekend, we had a busy one here.  can't believe we are already gearing up for cabana swim and summer time.  we spent the weekend cleaning the patio and getting the furniture ready for the season...whose idea was it to have so much wood furniture anyway.  lol

well, anyway....today I wanted to share with you a cute little recipe box i made using some prima papers and a new Sizzix die, recipe box, from eileen hull.

this is some older prima paper and chipboard, the almanac collection.  still working through the stash. 

this little box is the perfect size for little atg cards, small photos,

I always have little photos lying around that need to find a home, and i think this is just the place.

Grannie Box?

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a great day.  Today I want  to share with you how I embellished one of the beautiful new Clear Boxes from Clear Scraps.

These boxes are so much fun to play with and embellish.  I used some older supplies on this one....some SEI that must have been in my stash forever...maybe circa 2008?  Funny how we love something and then hold onto it for years.  I am sure at one point I loved it so much I couldn't imagine parting with it.  Then slowly it gets pushed to the bottom of the pile and here we are years later.   lol

 See that cute little frame on the front...that is one of the new mirrored frames also new this season from Clear Scraps.  And again, lots of older supplies...Prima flowers that I had to have, and some beautiful baubles....sigh...why do I hoard so many things.  This year I am definely working throught the stash....goal number 1!

To me the box looks a bit grannie...but I like it just the same.  How would you embellish one of these beautiful boxes?

A Little Spring in my Step

Hey everyone!  Sorry I am a bit late today...just not feeling it. lol  Ever have those weeks?  I have so many projects ready to share, but some days just don't feel like sitting down to blog.  Brighton is home this week for spring break, Mackenzie has spring break next week, and Ainsley the week after...Ugh, hate rolling spring breaks.

Anyways...... Today I wanted to share this cute little ATB I made with a Sizzix die from Eileen Hull.  I had this paper in my stash from Webster's Pages forever and since I am trying to get through the stash....

I had to add one of the beautiful burlap and glitter birds I had from Darice and a few little flowers and birds nest from Prima Marketing.  

My littles aren't so little anymore.  Way to big for Easter baskets, so I am thinking of making a few of these and filling them with little treats for the children.

A Little Green

Hi everyone!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Today I wanted to stop by and share with you another projects we made using the Canister Die from Eileen Hull and Sizzix. This time, Ainsley's creation. This die is so versitile.

Ainsley needed a little container to hold all her makeup brushes...and we thought that this die would be just perfect.  The original cut was just a bit tall, so we decided to cut it down to 4 inches...perfect.

Of course, she had to go all out with the embellishments.   Ainsley chose some pink pleated trim from May Arts, a few flowers, bits of bling and a resin butterfly from Prima Marketing, and of course I couldn't resist throwing in a bit of new trim I had from Decorative Trimmings.

Changes - Bloom Girl

hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day.  Today I wanted to share with you a scrapbook page I made recently...Yep, I actually made a scrapbook page with my scrapbook supplies.  lol  I don't know when I stopped scrapping and started doing more off the page projects and minis...but I am happy.

I dug into the stash and found this super fun older mulberry paper from Prima.  I think at one time I had every sheet they made....I actually probably still have them, I mean, they are made into projects so they are still here...right?

It is really amazing how quickly Ainsley has changed this last year.  She is growing up way too fast if you ask me...but...what cha gonna do?  She is a teen afterall.

I stamped one of Jamie Dougherty's lovely Bloom Girls onto Core'dinations Velum and the colored one of them with water color pencils to create a soft look.

I finished embellishing my layout with a few Prima flowers and a Prima resist canvas alphabet.  I really have been enjoying going through the stash and using things up.

Create - Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you one of the beautiful Expressions Clear Word Titles from Clear Scraps.  This one is Create.

With just a few sheets of paper from an older Pink Paislee 6x6 paper pad, my trusty sanding tools and a few floral embellishments I was quickly able to create this home decor piece which is now proudly displayed in my craft room.

I always like to add my papers under the clear acrylic as I feel it adds extra depth.  And, it makes adding the embellishments so much easier...if I need to move something later I don't have to worry about tearing my paper.  hee hee  Plus, I feel it is eaiser to sand the paper when it is behind the acrylic....maybe that's just me?

Oh, and see those rhinestone flowers?  I made those with my trusty Sizzix and and a Buckle Boutique Rhinestone Sticker Sheet.  I love bling, and I love how easily the Sizzix cuts through the Buckle Boutique sheets and mixed with some lovely Prima Flowers........

Celebrate- Deco Landscape Clipboard - Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you another one of the fabulous new products from ClearScraps....the Large Deco Landscape Clipboard.  Since I had my wedding photos out, I couldn't resist making one more project with them.  hee hee  I really  am quite happy with the way this turned out.

These new clipboards are just so much fun to play with.  For this project I collaged a number of elements, papers,lace and flowers, even a few wood pieces from Prima Marketing with some ribbon from BasicGrey, a few Webster's pages elements and a cabinet card from Tim Holtz Ideaology which has been in my stash for quite a while....all my favorite goodies on top of the clipboard.  Of course most everything got a quick swipe of Distress Ink as well.  This project was quite the stash buster.  lol

Then I used the new ornate flourish border on the back with a bit of gel medium and glitter.

I really love this project and can't wait to hang it in my home.
