Make Your Graduation Party Shine!

I can't believe it....alomost a year ago I made this set of party decorations for Core'dinations and Darice and now I have two children graduating...Brighton with his Bachelors of Science and Mackenzie from High School!  Time to break these out and party!!!!!!!  These were super fun to make and I really love the way they turned out.

Graduation Party Decor Supplies:

• Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic Paper
• Core'dinations Core Basics Black  Canvas Texture 12x12 Paper
• Core'dinations Party Mixers  3 Pack Rosettes in Black, White, and Golden Pearl
• Core'dinations Party Mixers Rosette Garland Kit in Golden Pearl
• Core'dinations Party Mixers Paper Pops Silver and Gold
• Graduation Day Cut File from SVGCuts
• Dowel
• Mason Jar
• Yellow Embroidery Thread

Mason Jar Congratulations Centerpiece:

Step 1:  Select desired pieces from Core'dinations Paper Pops pack.  These packages come in a varitety of styles and colors for any celebration.  You will need 6 pieces of two sizes to create ornament shapes, plus two larger shapes for the title.
Step 2:  Fold shapes in half with the side you want displayed on the inside.

Step 3:  Glue shapes with the right side in together leaving a bit of a gap on the inner corner.  When all six are glued together you will get your ornament shape.

Step 4:  Thread ornament shapes and larger title shapes onto dowel.

Step 5:  To create band on mason jar begin by cutting a sheet of the Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft Core paper to fit your jar.  I cut mine at 1 1/2 inch by 10, and emboss if desired.

Step 6:  In order to keep your embossing pattern consistent throughout your longer projects, you can cut a slit in the top of the folder allowing the paper to slide through.  I love this technique for embossing longer strips.

Step 7:  Simply wrap your mason jar with the Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic Paper and insert your dowel with the ornaments.  I used a bit of krinkle paper to hold everything together, but almost anything would work, from pebbles to marbles to little hard candies.

Graduation Cap Boxes Step 1:  Cut all pieces from the SVGCuts file.

Step 2:  Assemble as per their directions.  The Core'dinations Texture cardstock gives the cap a nice fabric finish.

Graduation Cap Banner Step 1:  Cut 1 1/2 inch mortar board shapes with electronic cutter.

Step 2:  Attach mortar boards to banner rosettes.  The rosettes come pre assembled, so creating this banner is quick and easy.

Medallion Wall Decor Step 1:  Directions for assembly are included in each kit.  Begin by removing adhesive from end piece and attaching to the other end to form a ring.

Step 2:  Place medallion ring over cardboard ring with post.

Step 3:  Press ends of medallion down and cover with top screw and additional cardboard ring.

Step 4:  Cover cardboard rings and posts with included foam tape cardboard circles and embellish further with paper pops.  Layer on wall for a unique decoration.

Vintage Paper Christmas Tree

Yep, it's the holidays and that means I have been making tons of holiday decorations for the house, many with my Cricut, because...gosh, it is just so fun.

Today I want to share with you a paper Christmas Tree I made using a file from SVGCuts and papers from Prima.  This project was super easy to make once you get the folding figured out.   Luckily there is a video detailing how to assemble the tree.  And, it is a cute little box that you can light.

 I love these vintage papers from Prima Marketing....I just added a bit of ink and some gorgeous Stickles to make the tree come to life.

I found some fun, battery operated twinkle lights at Target that I can fit inside to light up the tree.  Thanks for stopping by.

Create a Canister with Sizzix and The Buckle Boutique

Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a great day.  The weekend!!!  It is upon us.  w00t w00t. Well, today I want to share with you this cute little box I made using a die from Sizzix and some fun rhinestones from The Buckle Boutique.

I have had so much fun with the XL Canister die from Eileen Hull for Sizzix.  Using the Sizzix Mat Board really makes the final project super sturdy and with the addition of a Rhinestone Sticker sheet from The Buckle Boutique, this one in Crystal Gold Rectangle.... Well, let me show you how I made it.

Begin by adhering your cardstock to the mat board and create your Sizzix Sandwich; cutting plate, Sizzix Bigz Die, mat board and second cutting plate; and run through the Big Shot machine.

You will need to cut two of the "canister sides" to complete the assembly.

Use the Sizzix die to cut the Rhinestone Sticker Sheet for the top of the box.  Save those extra pieces for embellishment later.

From there, simply assemble the canister and add the Rhinestone Sticker Sheet to the top of the box.

To embellish the canister I added a bow that I cut with the Sizzix French Bow XL die (which I embellished with one of the scraps of rhinestones I cut earlier)

and a simple rolled flower I made using the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals set.

Clear Scraps Trinket Box

Happy Wednesday, Nancy here today to share with you an acrylic box I made.  I love these little boxes that came out at the CHA Winter Mega Show.  

I chose to keep the box fairly simple, adding just a bit of lace sticker around the sides, along with a piece of Prima chipboard in the front.  

The inside bottom was lined with a piece of Rowlux film, giving it a fun sea glass texture .  This film is super fun to use when designing projects as it offers a great texture with ease of cleanup.  Oh, and it comes in so many fun textures and colors...Go check it out.

Finally for the top I added a large doily that I cut with my Sizzix,  a few bits and pieces of Prima flowers and fussy cut papers, along with a few chipboard pieces.  Oh, and how fun is that little tassle I found in my stash?  I think it is Prima as well.

This box was quite simple to assemble and embellish and will sit on my night stand to hold little trinkets while I sleep.

Happy Birthday - Chibitronics & SVGCuts

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Today I wanted to share with you a project I made with the fun LED lights from Chibitronics.  Recently, SVGCuts released the super cute collection Country Market.  Well, the minute I saw the easel box with the arrow...I knew I had to light that arrow up with my Chibitronics.

I used some older Crate Paper patterned papers, and Core'dinations cardstock, along with my Cricut Explore to create the little box (which just happens to hold a new cell phone).

Lighting up the box was so easy, especially since the SVGCuts file came with a hole in the arrow and gift box where I could run my foil tape to the battery.

Of course, even without the battery in place the box is super cute....but I really do love the way it lights up.

Outrageously Cute Owls - Coredinations

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great week.  Today I wanted to share with you a project I did a while ago for Core'dinations.  I love the dot papers that Core'dinations makes, such a fun texture.  These little pillowboxes are just so cute and fun.

I had my niece Lili and one of her friends over for a playdate so that we could create these.  The girls of course loved it.  They then proceeded to fill their little pillow boxes with other diecuts they had made.

Owl Box Supplies:

• Core'dinations Core Basics Patterned Papers 1 Sheet per Owl
• Core'dinations Core Basics White Cardstock
• Core'dinations Core Basics Black Cardstock
• Core'dinations Tillie Dot 12x12 Papers 1 Sheet 12x12 to coordinate with Patterned Paper, and Orange
• Core'dinations Sand it Gadget
• Pillow Box Tool, Cut File, or Template
• Assorted Circle Punches and dies

Step 1: Cut pillow box.  I chose to make my owl 6 3/4 inches by 4 1/2.

Step 2:  For added interest, sand the box with your Sand it Tool.  At this time I assembled the box so that I could see where the owl "parts" would go.

Step 3:  Begin cutting Owl "parts".  Two white circles approximately 2 inches wide for eyes.

One three inch circle, cut in half, for the wings.  Again, sand this piece for extra texture and interest.

One two inch circle and a small triangle for the feet and beak.  Feel free to sand if you like.

Two black one and 1/2 inch circles for the pupils,

Sixteen or so one inch circles for the feathers.  Don't worry if they don't punch perfectly, we are going to layer them so you can hide your mistakes.  hee hee
Step 4:  Time to assemble.  Begin applying the "feathers" in rows across the box.  Be sure to not place the feathers where your box will fold up.  Add orange "feet" on top.

Step 5:  Add wings and the whites of the eyes next.

Step 6:  Finish with the pupils and beak.

This project is so fun and easy to make; and the owls are totally outrageous.  The new Core Basic Patterns create the most adorable feathers and coordinate beautifully with the Tillie Dot papers.  I hope you give them a try, my littles did.
