Make Your Graduation Party Shine!

I can't believe it....alomost a year ago I made this set of party decorations for Core'dinations and Darice and now I have two children graduating...Brighton with his Bachelors of Science and Mackenzie from High School!  Time to break these out and party!!!!!!!  These were super fun to make and I really love the way they turned out.

Graduation Party Decor Supplies:

• Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic Paper
• Core'dinations Core Basics Black  Canvas Texture 12x12 Paper
• Core'dinations Party Mixers  3 Pack Rosettes in Black, White, and Golden Pearl
• Core'dinations Party Mixers Rosette Garland Kit in Golden Pearl
• Core'dinations Party Mixers Paper Pops Silver and Gold
• Graduation Day Cut File from SVGCuts
• Dowel
• Mason Jar
• Yellow Embroidery Thread

Mason Jar Congratulations Centerpiece:

Step 1:  Select desired pieces from Core'dinations Paper Pops pack.  These packages come in a varitety of styles and colors for any celebration.  You will need 6 pieces of two sizes to create ornament shapes, plus two larger shapes for the title.
Step 2:  Fold shapes in half with the side you want displayed on the inside.

Step 3:  Glue shapes with the right side in together leaving a bit of a gap on the inner corner.  When all six are glued together you will get your ornament shape.

Step 4:  Thread ornament shapes and larger title shapes onto dowel.

Step 5:  To create band on mason jar begin by cutting a sheet of the Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft Core paper to fit your jar.  I cut mine at 1 1/2 inch by 10, and emboss if desired.

Step 6:  In order to keep your embossing pattern consistent throughout your longer projects, you can cut a slit in the top of the folder allowing the paper to slide through.  I love this technique for embossing longer strips.

Step 7:  Simply wrap your mason jar with the Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic Paper and insert your dowel with the ornaments.  I used a bit of krinkle paper to hold everything together, but almost anything would work, from pebbles to marbles to little hard candies.

Graduation Cap Boxes Step 1:  Cut all pieces from the SVGCuts file.

Step 2:  Assemble as per their directions.  The Core'dinations Texture cardstock gives the cap a nice fabric finish.

Graduation Cap Banner Step 1:  Cut 1 1/2 inch mortar board shapes with electronic cutter.

Step 2:  Attach mortar boards to banner rosettes.  The rosettes come pre assembled, so creating this banner is quick and easy.

Medallion Wall Decor Step 1:  Directions for assembly are included in each kit.  Begin by removing adhesive from end piece and attaching to the other end to form a ring.

Step 2:  Place medallion ring over cardboard ring with post.

Step 3:  Press ends of medallion down and cover with top screw and additional cardboard ring.

Step 4:  Cover cardboard rings and posts with included foam tape cardboard circles and embellish further with paper pops.  Layer on wall for a unique decoration.

Box Up the Week with Chibitronics

Happy Friday everyone!  And welcome to the last day I will bore you with projects I made for Chibitronics with the Rockin and Rollin SVG kit from SVGCuts and my Cricut.  lol

This box was so cute and simple to make.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the photos of the circuits so I will just have to tell you how I did it.  If you have been following along this week, you have seen how easy it is to use the copper tape to create a circuit.  For this project I simply added my lights under neath the dice, as well as along the record (you can see that from the photos).  I poked holes through the top layer and into the box so that I would have access to my battery.  So simple to do.  There are actually two separate circuits running.  One under the dice, the other across the top of the box.

Well, that is all the fun projects I have to share from CHA and Chibitronics.  I hope I have been able to inspire you to create using LED lights from Chibitronics.

A Jukebox that Lights up With Chibitronics

Hello Again!!!  More today from the Chibitronics booth at CHA featuring the projects I made using the SVGCuts Rockin and Rollin SVG Kit and my Cricut.

Today I wanted to share with you one of my absolute favorite projects I made for the booth.  This little light up Jukebox.

 

To create the box I used lots of Core'dinations papers.  I love the color core and how it reacts when embossed.  Almost like real wood on my box, yeah?  And, check out the metallic papers also from Core'dinations oh and the colored vellum.  I love the variety of papers the Core'dinations offers.

From there, I created my circuits adding light on the back panel of the 3D project where they would best shine through to the front.

Continuing the circuits onto the back of the project so as to be able to switch out the battery.

Love the way the projects lights up.  So super fun.

Records that Shine with Chibitronics and SVGCuts

Hey everyone!  Yep, I'm back!  Sharing a couple of more cards I made using the Rockin and Rolling SVG kit from SVGCuts and Chibitronics.

The first card is a Party card with multi colored lights.  I poked small holes in the top "record" layer of my card to add a space for the lights to shine through.

 From there, I marked circles onto the background layer and created my circuit.  This time I chose to use different colored lights to add more color to the black background.  So fun.  Much like in the Car Card from yesterday, I only attached the top layers at the top so that the battery was easily replaceable.

The next record card I made used the same basic idea.

After cutting all the layers with my Cricut, I poked holes in the top layer where I wanted the lights to go, and marked them on the lower layer.  The lights were a bit close, so I supplemented a few of the lights with small rhinestones.  Again, only attaching the final layer at the top so that the battery could easily be replaced.

How cute are these fun cards?  And creating the light up circuits are so quick and easy.

Making CHA Headlights Shine with Chibitronics and SVGCuts

Hey Everyone!  Long time no see.  lol   Well, I warned you.  I have actually not been doing much crafting at all.  Instead I have been in a massive cleaning and organizing mode.  Feels so good.

I did however promise Chibitronics to share some of the projects I had made for them from CHA.  So, this week I will be sharing something every day.   These projects were made using the Rockin and Rollin SVG kit from SVGCuts.  Chibitronics knew they were going into CHA with a diner theme and the colors they wanted to sue, so these projects were just perfect.  So quick and easy to create with the files from SVGCuts and my Cricut.

When I cut the top layer for the card, the background I created my circuit so that the car headlights would light.  The lights and battery are thin and flat enough that I was able to layer the rest of the pieces on top without any added bulk.

 I actually only glued the teal layer at the top so that I could remove or change the battery as needed.

Bits of stickles and bling finished off my project which was so fun to create and I hear was quite popular at the show.

Up Up and Away with Chibitronics

Hey everyone!  Well, Christmas decorating is still going strong around here.  Cookies baking, presents wrapped in brown papers....I really love this time of year.

Today though, I thought it might be fun to share something a little different.  How about a project from Chibitronics and SVGcuts?

I had this cute little hot air balloon file from SVGCuts High Skies kit in my stash for a while and thought how fun to light it up.  I don't always like to show the copper tape for my circuits, but in this case they added a great design element.  I used some older Crate Papers that were in my stash, as well as a few burlap flowers to "hide" my battery.....the battery does not make a good design element. lol

 

This project was super easy to complete using the instructions provided with the kit (although, have to say I am getting pretty good at these.  lol).   Then I just wrapped the basket with my circuit and embellished.

Such a fun project...and a nice change from all the Christmas I think.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs....

Vintage Paper Christmas Tree

Yep, it's the holidays and that means I have been making tons of holiday decorations for the house, many with my Cricut, because...gosh, it is just so fun.

Today I want to share with you a paper Christmas Tree I made using a file from SVGCuts and papers from Prima.  This project was super easy to make once you get the folding figured out.   Luckily there is a video detailing how to assemble the tree.  And, it is a cute little box that you can light.

 I love these vintage papers from Prima Marketing....I just added a bit of ink and some gorgeous Stickles to make the tree come to life.

I found some fun, battery operated twinkle lights at Target that I can fit inside to light up the tree.  Thanks for stopping by.

A Camera Box with a Flash?

Hey everyone!  I know, long time no see.  I just haven't been feeling it lately, and with the stress of my paren't injuries, preparing college and grad school aps, and Ainsley's beginning high school things have been a bit busy.

I did want to pop in today and share this fun camera box I made with a file from SVGCuts.  It is part of the Instant Memories Collection. 

You know how much I love SVGCuts, they make creating fun 3D projects so quick and easy, and they work wonderfully with my Cricut.

See that big button?  The one with the flower in the center?  That is the switch for the flash.

Because what is a camera that doesn't actually flash when you take the photo?  lol  To creat the lights I began by making a circuit with the Chibitronics Starter Kit.  I ran my copper tape from the clear box where the flash would be on a real camera, placing my LED light right next to the hole.

The Chibitronics circuit continues up through a few little holes I made in the top of the box and onto the button where I place my battery.  I added a few pieces of foam tape next to the battery so that the battery could not make contact unless the button was depressed. 

The foam tape adds just enough cushion to allowe for a firm press.  I also lined the box with some of the Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallic collection so that you could reallly see the flash. Such a fun project, and will easily hold a mini album.

Chibitronics Blinking Gift Bag

Hi everyone!  Can you believe it is already October?  Eeek,  well, this weekend I decided to get my Halloween on and start decorating the house, so  I have lots of fun home decor items to share with you this week.

Today I wanted to start with this cute little Halloween goodie bag I created with Chibitronics, a file from SVGCuts, my Cricut and of course some of my favorite basics...papers from Core'dinations.

I began with a the treat bag file from the Fright Night Collection, which I cut with my Cricut Explore from a combination of the Core Basics Patterns, Orange Small Dot, Core Basics, Black, and the Orange from the Core Essentials Brights Collection. 

After I cut all my papers, the fun of assembling and lighting up the bag with Chibitronics began.  First I created my parallel circuit.  I marked dots on my backing piece where the holes on the bag were, so I would know where to place the lights.  Please don't break your copper tape, two continuous loops are necessary.  (yes, I know this from experience) And be sure leave enough overhang to add your battery later.

From there I simply added my LED lights, I chose to add one to every other hole because I didn't want to over work my battery.  How simple was that....I have a light now at each hole.

Pretty cool, right?  But wait....Chibitronics just came out with some super cool effects stickers and you know I had to give them a try.  Adding the effect sticker was a bit more complicated, and being that I was working in a limited area I used a bit of masking tape as an insulator.  You can see the effects sticker layout directions here.

From there, I simply finished the assembly of my bag.  Ok, yeah, I know those are all still photos, so you can't see how cool it is that these lights now blink...or can you?  Check out this short video of the bag blinking....

There are other super cool effects as well as the blink...heartbeat, twinkle, and fade all come in the kit.
