Paper Lantern - Core'Dinations

Hey Everyone!  Hope you are having a great day...me?  well....trying to get caught up and share a few of the tutorials I have done for Core'dinations.

You may remember seeing me post a sneak of this back in December that was on the Core'dinations blog.  I really love this lantern and have since made a more spring version, but I wanted to share the tutorial here as well.  To make it more spring like....why not add some book paper?  pinks and blues?  flowers instead of snowflakes?  butterflies?  let your creativity take flight.

Winter Paper Lantern Supplies:

Step 1:  Begin by cutting snowflakes and flowers from both the Whitewash cardstock (I chose blue for the snowflakes and red for the poinsettas) and vellum.  I used a combination of electronic and manual dies to create my cuts.  I love the wintery feel the Whitewash cardstock created.

Step 3:  Layer the red poinsettias with the vellum poinsettias to soften the look and adhere with Zip Dry to the paper lantern in a curved pattern.  Spacing the flowers out to fill the space.  I made nine flowers in two sizes for my 12" lantern.  Remember that if you plan on using an incandescent light bulb in the lantern do not use hot glue, the glue will heat and your items may fall off.  Zip Dry will continue to hold even when the lantern heats up.

A Beautiful Place Mixable Mini, Clear Scraps

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you another project I made using new products from Clear Scraps.  This time, it is the Mixable Travel 6x8 Album.  It is no secret that I love the mixable albums and always have a great time playing with them and this one was no different.  I really love all mini albums, I think I could make them all day.  hee hee

Filled with a variety of shapes and of course the mixed up acrylic and chipboard pages this album is just so fun.  I love the edges on these...definitely invest in some good tools if you want to  file your papers to fit.  Mine get quite the workout.  hee hee
I used lots of goodies from the Teresa Collins Summer Stories Line to create this mini.
I love the mix of elements in the collection.  Cork, chipboard, glitter, sequiins...oh my.  lol
I also added a few bits and pieces from the stash on the cover.  Prima flowers and tassles and some lovely ribbons from the stash.

Be sure to check out all the new Mixable albums.  I know you will find something you love.

Celebrate- Deco Landscape Clipboard - Clear Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share with you another one of the fabulous new products from ClearScraps....the Large Deco Landscape Clipboard.  Since I had my wedding photos out, I couldn't resist making one more project with them.  hee hee  I really  am quite happy with the way this turned out.
These new clipboards are just so much fun to play with.  For this project I collaged a number of elements, papers, lace and flowers, even a few wood pieces from Prima Marketing with some ribbon from BasicGrey, a few Webster's pages elements and a cabinet card from Tim Holtz Ideaology which has been in my stash for quite a while....all my favorite goodies on top of the clipboard.  Of course most everything got a quick swipe of Distress Ink as well.  This project was quite the stash buster.  lol
Then I used the new ornate flourish border on the back with a bit of gel medium and glitter.

I really love this project and can't wait to hang it in my home.

Our Day Word Board-Clear Scraps

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a new product from the ClearScraps word board collection, Our Day.  I knew as soon as I saw this board that I needed to pull out the old wedding photos and get to work.  I can't believe it has been almost 22 years.  eeek!  Where did the time go?

To create this word board I collaged some beautiful Prima papers to the back of the acrylic, cut out papers to back the letters in the title and then added my photos behind.

Finally I embellished over the top of the acrylic with chipboard, resins, and flowers..  This project was so much fun to make and a great way to highlight our special day.

Be sure and check out all the new word boards that Clear Scraps has to offer.

Pinterest Plan - Snowman Lantern

Hey everyone, Happy New Year!!!!!!  Goodness...can you believe the new year is upon us?  New year, new plans...and this year I have a Pinterest Plan.  I am forever pinning crafts, recipes, home decor items...but I never really seem to find the time to get anything done.  So, this year, I have a plan to do one project, recipe, something each week from my pinterest board (you can find me here) and tell you about it.  It may be a recipe, or just some new housekeeping idea...but I promise to try and then share.

Well, to start, this beautiful lantern from Linda Albrecht for Maya Road has been on my boards
forever.  And it is really quite popular.  Probably one of the most pinned things from my boards.

Well, I needed a table centerpiece, so I decided to see if I could whip one up.  I didn't have many of the "right" supplies, but in no time with just a few things I had lying around the house I was able to whip this up.  No where near as fabulous, but I really didn't have much time to devote to it.
It still needs more work, but was lovely that evening...and overall it didn't take too much time.  So, I am going with this project was a win.

Be sure and follow me on Pinterest to see what other projects I make.
