Bloom Girls Mixed Media Rocks

Hi everyone!  Ugh, I think I give up on blogging.  lol  I just can't seem to get ahead.  So many projects made, I just really need to sit down and kick out some blogs so they get posted on time.  sigh

I had a great, creative National Scrapbook Weekend.  I was able to spend it with some amazing friends, shout out to Chris, Jamie and Debbie!  Love them!   Didn't get a ton done....gone are the days when I could kick out 20+ layouts in a weekend.  But had such a great time laughing and hanging out.

I wanted to share this Bloom girl I made for my friend Heather!  Love her as well.

Sometimes I just create with no idea where I am going.  For this lovely I used a few techniques from Jamie Dougherty's fabulous Bloom Girls series mixed with techniques from Christy Tomlinson's She Art.
I really didn't know what I was going to do with her until I read the quote on the super fun Dylusions stamps. As soon as I read that stamp I knew I was making this for Heather.  Good thing it wasn't pink.  lol

Anyway, thanks for stopping by.  And if you are looking for some fun, online courses check out both Jamie and Christi's offerings.  You really can't go wrong.

Hugs.

Oh Christmas Trees....

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a little project I made the day before Christmas this year...well, I say made, but technically they aren't quite yet finished.  However, they were done "enough" to set out over the holiday.

I found this cute little tree kit over at the Gilded Girls site.  It was part of the Christy Tomlinson class 12 Artsy Days of Christmas...but since I didn't ever finish last years class I couldn't bring myself to sign up for this years....

Anyway, I did decide to purchase the kit...which made this.

Gorgeous!  And then I decided I needed more...because, well...I wanted a forest of trees.

So, I took a quick run over to the fabric store and gathered up some flower trim...I wrapped it around a cone base, added some glitter and.....

Well, I still need to add glitter to the red tree...and toppers, and some type of balls or something...but they were a lovely addition to my coffee table, and eventually.....

Gots to run!

Hugs.

Hooray for Monday?

Monday's aren't really my favorite day, I think most of us feel the same...however, this Monday is special because with it comes the announcement that I am joining the Hydrangea Hippo design team!  I am thrilled to be working with Jennifer Priest and the other girls on the team.  You can check out the full announcement here.

Well, still haven't been doing much in the way of paper crafting, but I think I found a new hobby....jewelry! Remember I told you that I had taken a class with Christy Tomlinson?  A Gilded Valentines?  Well, the Gilded Girls offered this beautiful bracelet kit...and I just had to have it!  I had so much fun learning to wire wrap....well, it started out frustrating, but in the end...
I love it!  I haven't really had the chance to wear it since I have spent most days working around the house in my yoga pants, but....

And speaking of yoga pants, I guess I should go hop on my elliptical machine for a quick run before I start running children to the pool.

Hugs.

More Mojo

So, yesterday I mentioned that I had been having a lack of mojo when it came to making goodies with my photos.  Which didn't mean I was totally lacking in mojo...just that I was lacking in the desire to play with my photos.  I took an online class with Christy Tomlinson.  This one featured the Gilded Girls and was all about Valentine's day.

Day 4 was all about the messy, mixed media play...

I used bits and pieces from my Sampler Kit Club kit, "oh, Penelope."
My canvas varied from the original as I chose to go a different way with some of the hearts.  For instance....using tons of flowers to complete a heart.
I also chose to not add words.
I really love the way this canvas turned out.
Ainsley was thrilled to hang it on her wall.

Well, gotta get back to work.

Hugs.
