Up Up and Away with Chibitronics

Hey everyone!  Well, Christmas decorating is still going strong around here.  Cookies baking, presents wrapped in brown papers....I really love this time of year.

Today though, I thought it might be fun to share something a little different.  How about a project from Chibitronics and SVGcuts?

I had this cute little hot air balloon file from SVGCuts High Skies kit in my stash for a while and thought how fun to light it up.  I don't always like to show the copper tape for my circuits, but in this case they added a great design element.  I used some older Crate Papers that were in my stash, as well as a few burlap flowers to "hide" my battery.....the battery does not make a good design element. lol

This project was super easy to complete using the instructions provided with the kit (although, have to say I am getting pretty good at these.  lol).   Then I just wrapped the basket with my circuit and embellished.

Such a fun project...and a nice change from all the Christmas I think.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs....

Snowflakes and Dishes

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday!  Guess what I have to share with you today.....yep, more Christmas projects, this time with ClearScraps and my Cricut.

I had this 6x6 circle mini album lying around in my stash for ages and thought how fun to turn it into a banner.

I simply cut some snowflakes and my sentiment from vinyl and attached it to the circles.  A bit of glitter thread and voila...a snowflake banner.  Of course I had to bling it up a bit with rhinestones in the centers of the snowflakes and beaded drops in between.
Wondering where the dishes come in?  Well, I decided to hang my banner over the kitchen sink.  I don't know about you, but it seems I am spending quite a bit of time hanging out over my kitchen sink these days and seeing this sparkle in the sunshine really helps the time go by much more quickly.
Thanks for dropping by.
Hugs.

Glass Christmas Cutting Boards

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday...guess what?  I am back with more holiday goodies using my Cricut and svg files.  I know, CHA is coming and I should be working on projects...I still have so much to do, but making Christmas decor is so quick and easy.  hee hee
OK, so I found these small glass cutting boards/trivets at the Dollar Store and have seen so many fun things done I couldn't resist trying my hand.
Don't ask what I was thinking but I decided my first cutting board/trivet was going to be this beautiful Winter Wonderland scene.  Well, it took me two tries to get it properly weeded...one of these days I may have to read about how you are "supposed" to weed vinyl.  I am probably doing it all wrong.  lol I found the file in a Cricut user group on Facebook.
After that I had to try my hand at this super cute Santa found over at Kraftgineer. .  I wanted to give it as a gift, so I really needed it to be "right".  The Santa was much easier to center on the glass and the scrolls were much more forgiving than I would have originally thought.  I hope the recipient liked it. Anyway...if you are looking for scrolly (is that even a word) files, be sure and check this site out.  So many fun files.

Well, off to work on those CHA samples.

Holiday Happenings

Hey everyone!  Back today to share with you some more Christmas Decor I have been working on.  Today I want to share some fun pillow covers.  These are great because I can just slide them over existing pillows, making storage of the pillows over the holidays easier, and not taking much space when I pack all the decorations away.
These were so quick and easy to make.  I had plenty of holiday files available in my Cricut Design Space to choose from, and had purchased some Cricut Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl at Joann when they had a sale.  Lucky me.
My original plan was to sew some pillows, but I found some 20 inch pillow covers with zippers at Ikea for $4 each...there is no way I could have made these for that so...into my cart went a dozen or so.  hee hee
It was so quick and easy to cut the vinyl, and after a bit of hesitation I went ahead and committed, following the directions for use with my iron and....voila.  I probably spent more time being nervous than I spent actually making the pillow covers.  lol
I may make a couple more for Christmas and then the wheels are turning for other holidays....Valentine's Day anyone?

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugs.

Santa Bling Candle Stand

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday.  Today I want to share with you another quick and simple project I made for Christmas.  As some of you may know, Phil and I often attend wine tastings, and when we do we often come home with extra wine glasses.  Well, that leaves lots of glasses for crafting.

This project was super simple and only used a few supplies.
I began by using mod podge and covering the bowl.  I was having a hard time getting the mod podge even, so spray adhesive to the rescue.  I sprayed the glass and then rolled it in glitter.  I know, I could have worked better with the mod podge but I had other projects and was in a bit of a hurry.  lol

Once dried I sprayed the stem and base and rolled that in glitter.

From there, a simple ribbon with a Buckle Boutique rhinestone slide hot glued around the bowl and a quick fabric collar cut with my Sizzx and my project was complete.  Don't forget to clean up those little hot glue strings.
So quick and easy.  I may make a few more.  I think we have a dozen or so more glasses lying around.  lol
Have a great weekend.  Hugs.

Vintage Paper Christmas Tree

Yep, it's the holidays and that means I have been making tons of holiday decorations for the house, many with my Cricut, because...gosh, it is just so fun.

Today I want to share with you a paper Christmas Tree I made using a file from SVGCuts and papers from Prima.  This project was super easy to make once you get the folding figured out.   Luckily there is a video detailing how to assemble the tree.  And, it is a cute little box that you can light.

I love these vintage papers from Prima Marketing....I just added a bit of ink and some gorgeous Stickles to make the tree come to life.
I found some fun, battery operated twinkle lights at Target that I can fit inside to light up the tree.  Thanks for stopping by.
