Chibitronics Meets My Favorite Things

Hey everyone!  Long time, huh.

Well, recently I received a yummy box of goodies from My Favorite Things for a blog hop with Chibitronics.  Of course I had to come up with a few "Thank You" cards for swim team.  Don't forget to check out all the gorgeous goodies the MFT girls made on the My Favorite Things Blog

Sparkle Card Supplies :

• Chibitronics Copper Foil Tape
• Chibitronics Tropical Color LED Circuit Stickers
• My Favorite Things DC You Were Meant to Sparkle Stamps
• My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink Pad
• My Favorite Things Prestige Cardstock Sampler
• My Favorite Things Plaid Patterns Paper Pack
• Dazzling Metallic Sequins

Step 1:  Cut cardstock to size and add layer of patterned paper.

Step 2:  Stamp sentiment onto white cardstock using hybrid ink and stamp.

Step 3:  Create the circuit using copper tape and LED light stickers on an extra sheet of paper or cardstock.  You can see more information and directions on the Chibitronics website here.  I used three different colors of lights to give the card a bit more sparkle.

Step 4:  Complete the circuit by adding copper tape to the back of the stamped sentiment.

Step 5:  Embellish design with additional sequins.

This switch is super fun to use, just run your finger over the bottom of the card and the lights sparkle.

Step 1:  Assemble Card Base

Step 2:  Stamp Sentiment onto layered papers.

Step 3:  Die cut white cardstock mug and vellum steam and coffee.   I used my trusty Sizzix Machine and some Core'dinations gold vellum.

Step 4:  Assemble simple circuit behind where the steam will be placed. 

Step 5:  To prevent the card from lighting before being presented, I added a small piece of cardstock between the tape and the battery.  Once presented, the recipient can pull the cardstock out completing the circuit. 

This is a simple way to prevent the battery from running out before the card is presented.  

Light up the Lawn ...Fawn that is

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Chibitronics and Lawn Fawn blog share.  Chibitronics and Lawn Fawn have teamed up to share some of the great ideas and projects you can make with these two great companies.

Lawn Fawn makes some of the cutest clear stamps out there and I was lucky to receive the Loads of Fun stamps to play with.

Supplies Used:  

• Ranger Archival Ink - Black
• Ranger Distress Crayons
• Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun Stamps
• Chibitronics LED Sticker Lights
• Chibitronics Copper Tape
• Core'dinations Cardstock
• Foam Adhesive

Step 1:  Color card base with Distress Crayons.  Unlike many watercolor mediums, these you want to go somewhat heavy with in order to get a good smudge.

Step 2:  Color stamped images and color with Distress Crayons.  Apply adhesive.  I like using a dry adhesive like my Xyron Sticker Maker.

Step 3:  Create card design and poke holes where you want the lights to shine through.  

Step 4:  With Pencil, mark card base where lights need to show through.

Step 5:  Create simple, parallel circuit.

Step 6:  Attach card design to base using foam adhesive to compensate for depth of battery.

That's it...so cute, so simple.

Congratulations - Chibitronics and Core'dinations

Hi everyone!  Sorry I missed you yesterday, it was a crazy weekend and I just, well.....

Anyway, today I want to share with you a fun little card I made for a friend's newest grand baby.  I have had this Stampin' Up set forever and these days it is rare that I break it out.  Of course, as my friends start having more grand children....

Congratulations Card

Congratulations Card Supplies:

• Core'dinations Card Basics Kraft Card and Envelope Set
• Core'dinations Tilly Dot Papers
• Core'dinations Core Basics Patters Yellow Plaid
• Core'dinations 80 lb Smooth White Cardstock
• Chibitronics Circuit Sticker Starter Set
• Black Ink
• Stampin' Up Stamp Set
• Watercolor Pencils
• Foam Squares

 Step 1:  Cut white cardstock to size and stamp design.  I chose to color mine with watercolor pencils.

Step 2:  Cut yellow plaid to size and glue onto kraft card base.  Place cover design over cardstock base and poke holes through the design where you want to place the lights, leaving a mark so you know where to place them

Step 3:  Create light circuit being sure to place the lights where they can poke through the holes in the top layer.

Step 4:  Mount the colored design onto the Tilly Dot paper and use foam squares to make room for battery on.

I really love the way the "stars" twinkle on this sweet little card.

Mixed Media Darling

Good Morning everyone and Happy St. Paddy's Day.  I hope that you had a great weekend and are having a lovely Monday.  Today I wanted to share with you a canvas I made back a few weeks ago on Oscar Sunday.  I have been meaning to get to this for a while, but I had some technical difficulties...dead battery, and of course I couldn't find the charger.  Oh well.  So, you get to see the first half...the how I make a canvas part...but not the "how to junk it up"...but really?  I think you can handle it.   I used a gelattos to stamp on my canvas.  So much fun.

So, without further ado....

And here is the finished piece.

Gelli Plate

I started out the year so strong and now look at me...the month is not even up and I am terribly late today with a post.  lol  Blame it on my crazy weekend.  The boy was home from college so we spent lots of time hanging out, being a family...and we went to Cirque de Soleil.  I know...excuses.  lol

You may notice that I am working on a new blog design.  So hard...and all I do is tell my good friend Heather what to do...the poor thing just has to listen to me whine and complain about what I want it to look like.  Thank goodness she is such a good friend to get this done for me.  Big hugs and shout out!!!!

Today I have just a quick share.  I finally broke down and purchased a Gelli Plate.  After watching so many others use it, especially on the CJS videos (you still have time to sign up...) I had to try one for myself.  So much fun.  I used a big foam stamp from Donna Downey and the bottom of my paint bottle to make the design.  Loves!!!!!  Of course didn't know what to do with it once I made it...but I made it, lol, and that is what counts.

I really like the background before I added the photo...but I do love my shoes.  roflmao  I think I may move some stuff around and see if I like it better.  sigh  I used some gorgeous Liquitex acrylic paints for the color, and of course, the bottom of my bottle of Liquitex gesso created the circles.  lol

OK, well...it is the middle of the day, so I really should be getting something productive done.

Hydrangea Hippo is Hopping

Hi everyone!  If you are here for the Hydrangea Hippo/100 Proof Press Blog Hop, Welcome!  You should have just gotten here from Tracy's blog.  If not, you may want to go back to Hydrangea Hippo and start from there.  There are prizes both from Hydrangea Hippo and 100 Proof Press so be sure and check out the blogs.

Hydrangea Hippo has teamed up with 100 Proof Press (they make the most amazing stamps) to create some super fun projects.  I was simply thrilled to get the most gorgeous rubber stamps.  You know I am not really much of a stamper...but these are just beautiful and the images are so crisp and clear.

I decided to make a little card and bookmark set.  I used a bit of the paper from my Pack Your Bags and Scoot kit...gorgeous yellow lace and of course the beautiful stamps; kids in wagon, have you heard, and cute as a button.  After coloring with my distress markers.....

I embellished the card with a few gorgeous flowers; the peach tropical flower and a couple lavender flowers.

Happy Birthday - Your Memories Here

Hi everyone!  No, it's not Your Memories Here's birthday, it is my Grandmother's birthday.  I won't tell you how old she is...but let me tell you...she is an amazing woman and I hope to live as long as she has.  I don't really make many cards, but for her....always.

Inspired by all the star burst patterns I have seen lately I used bits of my Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee papers to create the look.  I added a bit of stitching to help mark the rays....

 And then one single, gorgeous Prima flower and leaf.  A little stamped tag holds my sentiment.

A simple card for an oh so special lady.

I hope she is having a great day and hope you are as well.

July Cards - The Sampler

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a few cards I made with my July kit, Summer Camp, from the Sampler.  I have been having so much fun with this kit and had a few things left over and since I had a few bits and pieces left over I thought to make some cards.  (go easy on me...not much of a card maker).

So many fun elements in this kit that I couldn't let go to waste.  I even used one of the stamps to create the center card.

Well, swim season is just about over here...I am so looking forward to getting back to my normal schedule.  While I wait...how about checking out a few new things over at the Sampler.  The June challenge winners and a simple little contest for a prize.

Feeling Beachy? Zutter and Clearsnap

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share something a little different for me, a fun mixed media wall hanging I made using my Zutter Bind-it-All, o-Wires, Canvas Artboard and lots of fun goodies from ClearSnap.

I love the texture and weight of the canvas art board.  It is the perfect weight for heavier items like these small shells.  I began these canvases by spritizing with a mixture of different colors of Smooch Spritz, allowing the colors to bleed into one another.  I then added a bit of gesso and finally a super cute embossed sun.  Did you know that Clearsnap makes scented embossing powders under the Color Box line?  This yellow smells like lemons.  So super fun on a project, I really want to make a card using it.

The Zutter canvas readily accepted the different mediums including inks, gesso, spray ink, stamps and embossing and was a super fun weight to work with.

And the antique brass o-wires complimented my project perfectly.

I had a great time creating this wall hanging and I know you would have fun playing with the art board as well.

Where Does Time Go?

I could have sworn I had blogged early this week/over the weekend....but alas, I was mistaken.  So, what I did do was update my blog.  hee hee  I found a super cute template over at The Cutest Blog on the Block.  It made everything so easy...or so you would think.  I had to do some adjusting of the template to make the fonts the sizes I wanted, and have the text be justified the way I like...and since I stink at HTML......

Anyway....enough of that!  How about some fun projects?

First I have a few more cards from the Sassy Lil' Send off.  Sigh....what am I going to do when there are no more sketches......

And a fun canvas from my She Art class....which, I am loving.

This one is for a friend....she knows who she is and I hope she loves it.

Still Getting Sassy!

The sketches over at Sassy Lil' Sketches just keep coming.  And today I had time to turn this....

into this...

Crate Paper Farmhouse, Prima Marketing flowers, alphabet

Mackenzie at our Character breakfast on our trip to Alaska.  I switched it up a bit, changing the orientation of the photo and moving the journaling down to the lower circle and replacing the original journaling spot with a chipboard banner.  What am I going to do once Cherie's sketches are gone?  sigh

I have also been busy creating mixed media art.  I decided to jump on the She Art wagon and just finished my first canvas.....

Ainsley has already claimed it as hers.  This was so fun to make, but now I realize all the fun mixed media products I need to get my hands on.  hee hee....This was made mostly with patterned paper, mists, paints, rub ons...all the usual things I use in scrapbooking.  But now I know I need inks and gels, and mediums....oh my!
