Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great day. I can't believe that Friday is already here and that we in the US are celebrating Labor Day. Where did the summer go?
If you are looking for the Sampler blog hop post please go here....
If you just want to drop in and maybe have a cup of coffee....see what I have been up to? lol
How about another project I did for Hydrangea Hippo using the Island Summer kit. I really love this kit and decided one of the projects I just had to make was a mini album. So many fun goodies in the kit...how could I resist.
This kit features some gorgeous papers from Trinity Paper Arts. Perfect for all those beach photos.
And the buttons///
And the trims......
And of course I put it all together with my Bind-it-All.
I hope to use this for some of the hundreds of photos I took while in Hawaii! hee hee
OK, well....lots going on here as usual. Spending a lot of time working one on one with Ainsley.
Hugs.

Oh My....
Sorry everyone. Yesterday I was up super early as the children now have morning swim practice (5:00 am for Brighton, 5:45 for Mackenzie) and somehow it just slipped my mind that I needed to blog here. oops.
Good thing that come Thursday we are having a Sampler Blog Hop and I will be able to share my project then. hee hee
Well, how about something from Pink Paislee while we wait?
The Declaration collection from Pink Paislee is just gorgeous, full of fun patterns and colors that are good for so much more than just 4th of July. I love the elements for boy pages. Sometimes it is hard to find papers and embellishments for the older boys in our lives.
OK, Well....Back to work.
Hugs.

I used a sketch from Page Drafts which I have just fallen in love with lately.
Bits of mists with a mask, bakers twine, and many layers of foam dots under my stickers helped to add dimension.OK, Well....Back to work.

Back to School - Hydrangea Hippo
Hi everyone, today I wanted to share with you a few projects I made using the School House Vintage kit from Hydrangea Hippo. With back to school upon us, I decided to make this cute desk set for a teacher friend of mine.
I made a fun clipboard, notepad holder, post it note holder, and pencil box for her desk.
And I really love the super cute font stickers that are included. The whole kit is just perfect for back to school projects and layouts.
I also made a mini album that I will be back later this month to share.

Feeling Crabby - The Sampler
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a layout I made featuring the cutest little crab Phil and I saw while relaxing on the beach in Hawaii. not sure what this little guy was up to, but he was just skittering all over the sand.
Of course I used my Sampler kit for this one. I love the mix of patterns in this kit. and the cute little cardstock borders......
But, I think my favorite thing has got to be the mists. Not only did I use them to color the resist alphabet
But I also splattered them on my cardstock to add interest.
Don't forget that there are new sketch and card challenges up at The Sampler blog...You don't have to use the kit to win some great prizes.

Happy Birthday - Your Memories Here
Hi everyone! No, it's not Your Memories Here's birthday, it is my Grandmother's birthday. I won't tell you how old she is...but let me tell you...she is an amazing woman and I hope to live as long as she has. I don't really make many cards, but for her....always.
Inspired by all the star burst patterns I have seen lately I used bits of my Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee papers to create the look. I added a bit of stitching to help mark the rays....
And then one single, gorgeous Prima flower and leaf. A little stamped tag holds my sentiment.

A simple card for an oh so special lady.
I hope she is having a great day and hope you are as well.

Tuesday - Two Page
Hi everyone! Well, our first day of school went really well, as well as can be expected anyway. I really need to get a new schedule together on getting stuff done around here. I have been trying to get the children to help out a bit more around the house, but with school starting....
Anyway....I wanted to share with you a project I made this weekend for the Authentique color challenge using a sketch from Susan Stringfellow. These are photos from Phil and Brighton's 50 mile Yosemite hike. They had a great time and took some amazing photos. I left the journaling blank so that Phil and Brighton can tell their own story.
I used a roller stamp with some ink and a white Studio Calico mist to texturize the cardstock.
I love this Authentique collection, Genuine. The colors are just perfect for my boys and have just enough pretty to keep me happy.
Well, time to get back to work.
Hugs.

Back to Monday
Hi everyone! Oh goodness....it is Monday....and today is going to be our first "real" day of school. We officially started classes last Monday as that is what the charter school we belong to requires. That said, most of the week was spent organizing and getting ready for the real work to begin...and besides....the older two's online courses start today and the classes at the Junior College start next week, so it wasn't like they had a lot of work. hee hee
Anyway, can't believe this is going to be our 11th year homeschooling! Eeek! Where did it go. And Brighton will be a senior? College apps, SATs, Senior portraits all in my near future. sigh. Watching my friends over the last week take their children to college and leave them....cry....I am just not ready for this.
Well, anyway....enough of that.
Today there is a new sketch and card challenge up at the Sampler. You know I play with the sketch so....
and mine...
Gotta love what happens when teenagers play musical chairs. So much fun! lol And I love the patterns ad colors in this month's kit from the Sampler. Oh, and some fabulous Pink Paislee tissue paper! swoon.
OK, well.....with that I am off to get these children some learning. Don't forget to check out the card challenge and the other girls takes on the sketch.
Hugs.

You Spin Me Round
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you something I had made for Zutter that is completely different. Yes, there are papers involved, and of course, my trusty o-Wires. But this....
This was something totally different. A teacup mobile.
I cut the teacup using my Cricut and the Tags, Bags Boxes and More 2 cartridge (6 inches). I first cut the chipboard and then cut the patterned paper (Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee) and assembled.
I squished some 1 inch pink o-wires with my Bind it all, then stretched them out.
And attached lots of fun goodies I had lying on my desk to my stretched wires.
This would be a great project for those o-Wires that get messed up sometimes. hee hee
Super fun to make and of course Ainsley has already claimed it as hers. lol
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs.

Mixed Media
Hi everyone! Trying to get back into the swing of things around here. Life has been a bit hectic with back to school. I spent what seemed like hours yesterday going through books trying to find all the materials I would need for Ainsley this year. This is the third time I have taught 6th grade and over the years the books have scattered throughout the house. I guess that is what happens. Hard to believe this is our 11th year. Brighton is a senior, Mackenzie a freshman...and Ainsley....my baby.....6th grade. **cry**
Anyway.....
A few weeks ago I took a class at my LSS from Anna Dabrowska, a mixed media class....a grungy class.....and this is what I made using a Prima album and lots of Luminarte products.
A mixed media Art Journal. A bit more grungy that I probably would have done on my own...but Anna came by and was like, and I quote, "Why so delicate?" And then she encouraged me to go grungeier (is that even a word?) by adding more paint.
Anyway...it was tons of fun, and definitely not something I would have done on my own. But.....
The inside pages I was a little more comfortable with. Not quite a grungy and still lots of fun techniques.
And of course lots of mists and stamps. hee hee
Did you know you can pick up an Art Journal (blank of course) just like this from the Your Memories Here store? I think I may grab another for later...or Ainsley....Did I tell you she is doing mixed media now as well? Lord help us. hee hee
OK, back to it.
Hugs.

and I'm back
Hi everyone! Sorry I have been gone so long, but....Hawaii!!!! Days spent playing in the ocean, hiking to waterfalls, enjoying the sand and beautiful sunsets. So, here are a few photos of our trip that I am looking forward to scrapping. All straight out of the camera since I have yet to find time to work on editing them.
Not much else to share today. I am trying to get caught up on life...get school started. Life with two teenagers is not easy right now. sigh

Bind a Birthday - Your Memories Here
Hi everyone, today I wanted to share with you more photos from Ainsley's birthday party.
This year for her party we decided as a craft to make mini books. I cut up lots of my scrap papers and allowed the girls to use my Bind-it-All and some o-wires to create all by themselves. They were all so proud of their creations.
The girls had a great time and of course I had to take photos. And you know I couldn't resist using them to create this page based on a Creative Scrappers sketch and papers from Pink Paislee's collection, Spring Jubilee.
Of course, I used fussy cutting for embellishment along with a few chipboard stickers, a shipping tag and a bit of lace from the Your Memories Here store.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are having a great one.
Hugs.

Celebrate - the Sampler
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great day today. Me...just trying to recuperate after our crazy swim season. Hard to believe summer is almost over. sigh
Today I wanted to share with you another project I made using the Summer Camp kit from the Sampler.
These are photos from Ainsley's birthday party. We found this huge beach ball. All the girls had a great time playing with it. No one had ever seen a beach ball so big.
I love that this kit is packed with so many fun embellishments, washi tape, ribbons, buttons and cute stickers to layer and pop. And the patterned papers also mix and match so well.
Well, back to work. Be sure and check out the challenges going on now over on the Sampler blog.
Hugs.

Heading Out?
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a little mini album and suitcase I made for my upcoming trip to Hawaii.
I used some gorgeous papers from Trinity Paper Arts and lots of fun flowers and trims from the Hydrangea Hippo etsy store. I really love this fun little die from Sizzix.
And I of course had to embellish the Zutter Bind-it-All o-Wires for the mini book.
I plan on using this little gem for fun Instagram photos I will be taking.
OK, well.....
Hugs.
