You Make Me Smile - Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock-it

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great day.  Things here are as crazy as they get when in the heat of cabana swim season, but oh how I do love my little penguins.

Today I wanted to share with you a mini album I made using the  Clear Scraps Mixable Tags 6x8 Album and the Nostalic collection kit from Ruby Rock-it.   How fun that the two companies are teaming up this week. 

 Love the papers in this collection...and of course I am forever boring you with my love of the Mixables from Clear Scraps.

Send It Clear with Clear Scraps and Ruby Rock-it

Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a great week.  Summer hear has been fun so far and I am dreading how quickly the time is flying.  I am not, repeat NOT ready for this fall, so those of you who keep posting on Facebook that there are only 190 more days till Christmas.  EEEEK  Stop it!  LOL

Anyway, today I wanted to share with you a simple little card I made using the  Clear Scraps Deco Send it Clear Card and the Rustic Charm collection from Ruby Rock-it

To add even more dimension and texture to the back ground paper I used a few of my favorite Mascils and some embossing paste and gel medium.

Step 1:  Spread gel medium over patterned paper using a palette knife and the 6" Chevron Mascil

 

Step 2:  When that dries, use embossing paste over the 6"Damask Mascal to add even more interest.

 

Step 3:  Add additional smears of embossing paste to add a bit more texture around the edges if desired.

If you like, you can add a few flecks of white mists or other colors to really enhance the texture.

I simply adore the colors in this collection, and the lovely pearl finish on these papers make them extra special.  Be sure and check out the Clear Scraps blog to see all the beautiful projects made with Ruby Rock-it and Clear Scraps this week.

2015 Grad Card

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday!  Today I want to share with you a card I made for a friend of my daughters.  It's graduation here and it seems we are innundated with graduation parties.  Thank goodness for SvgCuts and the beautiful files they create.

You may remember I did a graduation decoration post for Core'dinations last month using a box from the Graduation Day Collection.  Well, that set also contains a couple of cards.  Hooray me!

 Of course I used some of my gorgeous Core'dinations Papers to create the card on my Cricut.  (all but the base piece which is just a scrap I had lying around).  I can not begin to tell you how much I love the new Tim Holtz Kraft Core Metallics.  swoon.....  Wait till you see what else I have made.  hee hee

Make Your Drink Tray Sparkle

Hi everyone!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I am.

Last week I was at Michaels where I found the cutest little tray onsale for only $6.00....The tray came in many different sizes and colors.  Swoon.....Well, since I don't really "need" a tray I decided on a lovely teal one (yes, just one).  I couldn't wait to get it home and have some fun.

I started out by cutting the letters DRINK from my Buckle Boutique Rhinestone Sticker Sheet and my Sizzix machine.  Please, be smarter than I and put the rhinestones down....otherwise the letters come out backwards.  oopsies.

 From there, I simply stuck my letters onto the tray.

How easy was that?  Now I have this adorable tray for serving drinks on the patio.  So....what should I put in the glasses?

Outrageously Cute Owls - Coredinations

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great week.  Today I wanted to share with you a project I did a while ago for Core'dinations.  I love the dot papers that Core'dinations makes, such a fun texture.  These little pillowboxes are just so cute and fun.

I had my niece Lili and one of her friends over for a playdate so that we could create these.  The girls of course loved it.  They then proceeded to fill their little pillow boxes with other diecuts they had made.

Owl Box Supplies:

• Core'dinations Core Basics Patterned Papers 1 Sheet per Owl
• Core'dinations Core Basics White Cardstock
• Core'dinations Core Basics Black Cardstock
• Core'dinations Tillie Dot 12x12 Papers 1 Sheet 12x12 to coordinate with Patterned Paper, and Orange
• Core'dinations Sand it Gadget
• Pillow Box Tool, Cut File, or Template
• Assorted Circle Punches and dies

Step 1: Cut pillow box.  I chose to make my owl 6 3/4 inches by 4 1/2.

Step 2:  For added interest, sand the box with your Sand it Tool.  At this time I assembled the box so that I could see where the owl "parts" would go.

Step 3:  Begin cutting Owl "parts".  Two white circles approximately 2 inches wide for eyes.

One three inch circle, cut in half, for the wings.  Again, sand this piece for extra texture and interest.

One two inch circle and a small triangle for the feet and beak.  Feel free to sand if you like.

Two black one and 1/2 inch circles for the pupils,

Sixteen or so one inch circles for the feathers.  Don't worry if they don't punch perfectly, we are going to layer them so you can hide your mistakes.  hee hee
Step 4:  Time to assemble.  Begin applying the "feathers" in rows across the box.  Be sure to not place the feathers where your box will fold up.  Add orange "feet" on top.

Step 5:  Add wings and the whites of the eyes next.

Step 6:  Finish with the pupils and beak.

This project is so fun and easy to make; and the owls are totally outrageous.  The new Core Basic Patterns create the most adorable feathers and coordinate beautifully with the Tillie Dot papers.  I hope you give them a try, my littles did.

Red Hat Society Gift Bag

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday!  I hope your day is off to a great start and you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was fabulous!  The start of cabana swim season and an outdoor music festival with the family.  Life is good.

Today I wanted to share with you a fun project I made using some of my favorite companies products.  You know how much I love bling, so I started out with a solid red rhinestone sticker sheet from The Buckle Boutique, a fun piece of patterned paper from Core'dinations (I love the simple patterns in their line) and a super cute Sizzix die that I have had forever.  Mine is no longer available, but this one is super cute.

This little Red Hat bag was super fun and easy to make.
Step 1:  Cut the entire purse shape twice from the Sizzix die using the Core'dinations Patterned paper.

Step 2:  Cut just the top portion of the purse using the Sizzix die and the Buckle Boutique Rhinestone Sticker Sheet.

Step 3:  Assemble box as per directions.

Step 4:  Attach Rhinestone sticker sheet to patterned paper to create the top of the bag.  The patterned paper is heavy enough to hold the rhinestones, and the rhinestone sticker sheet is so easy to use, ensuring every bit of the top has the bling you need.

Step 5:  You know I couldn't resist cutting a little "red hat" with some scraps of paper and a little flower.

Step 6:  And every purse needs a blingy clasp.  This Gold Waffle Rhinestone flat back was just perfect.

This little bag is the perfect holder for a gift card for a favorite friend.
