Send it Clear - Clear Scraps
Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great day. The week is half over and I am already looking forward to the weekend. Not sure why, because it is going to involve lots of cleaning and organizing, but...
Anyway. Today I wanted to share with you a project I made for Clear Scraps. Did you know that Clear Scraps makes the most beautiful clear acrylic cards? And in such beautiful shapes. I loved the Half Fancy Send it Clear Card....

I used some of the Something Blue ATC cards I had from the Prima Art'Venture and a few chipboard and flowers from my stash.
These Send it Clear cards are just the sweetest things. I can't wait to create more.
And, on another note.....
The winner of the Darice Spring Banner kit...
Congrats, Heather!

Sunset on the Beach - Scrapbooking
Hello everyone! Happy Monday. Today I want to share with you a scrapbook layout I made. I am desperately trying to work through my never ending supply of paper. I can't seem to part with it, because it is so pretty...but I always seem to be drawn to what is new instead. So, making a concerted effort to break into the stash....
Anyway, these are some much older Basic Grey papers I have had for years. Love them, and they are perfect for our Northern California beach photos.
Basic Grey Periphery and a Recollections from Michaels wooden bird were perfect for these photos of Mackenzie and a couple of friends goofing off at the beach.
Keeping it simple using just a few die cuts from the collection and pop dots....remember when scrapbooking was simple? lol
Well, hope you have a great day.
Hugs.

Spring Banner - Darice
Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you a spring pennant banner I posted on the Darice blog last month. This paper pennant banner is a great way to decorate and welcome spring into your home!
SPRING PENNANT BANNER MATERIALS CHECKLIST:
- Core’dinations Core Essentials Cardstock in Cloudburst & Iced Cocoa (2 sheets of each)
- Canvas Corp Burlap Shapes Mini Triangles (3 packages)
- Darice Picture Punch
- Darice Embossing Folder- Stripe Background
- Martha Stewart Crafts Edge Punch – Doily Lace
- Martha Stewart Crafts Paper Tape – Vintage Girl
- K&Company Susan Winget Collection Meadow Chipboard Adhesive
- Quick Stick Felt White Pre-Cut Letters
- Petaloo Cream Velvet Hydrangeas
- Canvas Corp White Waxed Cotton Cord
- Hot Glue Gun
1. Decide what you want your pennant banner to say. I chose the word “Welcome” with one embellished pennant on each side, making a total of 9 pennants. For each pennant, cut two 1 inch circles and one triangle (slightly larger than your canvas banner piece) out of the Core’ Essentials Cloudburst. I made 18 paper circles and 9 paper triangles. Emboss all the pieces using the stripes embossing folder.
2. Place a canvas pennant on top of a cardstock triangle and adhere together.
3. Using the doily lace punch, cut a 1/2 x 12 inch strip from the Core’dinations Iced Cocoa.
4. Cut the paper lace strip in half. Adhere behind the triangle with a piece of red plaid paper tape.
5. Before you get to embellishing, punch 2 holes on each side of the pennant.
6. To make the rosette, cut a 1 x 12 inch piece of Iced Cocoa cardstock and fan fold at every 1/4 inch.
7. Adhere the ends together to form a ring. Place a glue dot or dab of hot glue on the circles you made earlier and sandwich the ring between. Hold until set.
8. Adhere the rosette to the already assembled pennant.
9. Apply the sticker letters to each of the rosettes to spell your sentiment. Embellish with the chipboard stickers and flowers as desired.
10. When each pennant is complete, use the cotton cord to attach, spelling out your sentiment.
Would you like to create your own banner? I have all the makings for another to share.

Bloom Girls- Sketching
Happy Friday! I can't believe how fast this week flew by. It's crazy how quickly the days and weeks move as we get older. Mackenzie turned 16, Brighton is back for his third quarter at University, standardized testing is over and we are preparing for finals. Eeek
Well, today I wanted to share with you a mixed media piece I made. I have been taking Jamie Dougherty's Bloom Girls classes and this is from the Bloom Girls 2. You know I can't follow directions, so I had to make my own background...which, I am pretty happy with...but probably shouldn't have done quite the way I had....lesson learned.
I am happy with the background, I am happy with the hair (well other than the fact it is so dark, LOL). I think I may go and repaint her facial features. She just seems so fair with that dark hair. sigh But, not so bad for a first try?
Have a great weekend. Hugs.

Favorite Things - Pillow Box
Hello everyone! Hope your day is off to a great start.
Today I wanted to share with you a quick little project I made using a few of my favorite things. The Annalee Collection from Prima was released quite some time ago...however it still remains one of my favorites. This paper coupled with some beautiful lace trim, a strand of beads and of course the most gorgeous Prima flowers came together to create this sweet little pillow box, perfect for holding that extra special gift.

Photo Frame - Your Memories here
Hello everyone! Happy Monday. Goodness, I think I need another day between Sunday and Monday. I just feel like I still have so many things left to do from the weekend. But isn't that the way it always goes. Sigh.....
Today I wanted to share with you a quick little project I made using some left over packaging from Prima Marketing. Lately, Prima has been packaging many of its woods and resins in little balsa wood boxes. (love that) One of these boxes had cut outs perfectly sized for wallet sized photos...you know I couldn't resist creating a fun frame.
I began by painting the box wish some Silks Acrylic Glaze. Varoom Red and Emperors Gold are two of my favorite Silks colors. This combination gave me a vintage-y look without being too formal. If you have never used Silks before, you must try some. They are a beautifully pigmented Acrylic glaze with a bit of shimmer.
And then came the fun stuff.....A few gorgeous Prima Flowers from my Your Memories Here Grab Bag and a resin bird, also from Prima.
This was such a quick and easy project, and a perfect way to use some of those fun boxes that have been accumulating around here.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bloom Girls Lessons
Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great day! I know I am...the sun is shining, the birds are singing.....
Today I want to share with you a project from a class (or set of classes) I am currently taking. Jamie Dougherty's Bloom Girls. Her classes are so fun, so easy to follow that I was able to make a lovely piece in just a few days by watching her videos.
I have never been about to draw a face...that is why all the girls I have made in the past had no faces. They just never looked right. But this was so simple, so fun.
Not that she is perfect, mind you.....but i think she is lovely. With hair filled with beautiful Prima blooms, how could I not love her.
Jamie teaches some fabulous tricks in this series of videos to help you create a girl on wood. And, right now, with the creation of her new online store, if you sign up for all three of the Bloom Girl classes; Bloom Girls Workshop 1, Bloom Girls Workshop 2 and Bloom Girls Elements you can get them for 20% off! I am currently working through the Elements workshop and can't wait to share all the things I have learned.
Hugs.
